Guest guest
Hi I saw your comment about Fatigue to Ramona, and wanted to throw out some of my own thoughts. By the way - good job lining up another liver-doc. That is the first and most important move, in my opinion. Now you can find some much needed answers. On to fatigue - 1 - HCV causes fatigue as one of its sides. 2 - Your liver is not functioning fully [Cirrhosis], and that alone will cause fatigue, because toxins are building up in your body. 3 - Your immune system is fighting like hell, and that causes fatigue. 4 - Low iron [anemia] causes fatigue. [The HCV needs iron to replicate, but cutting out all iron creats anemia.] 5 - Hypothyroidism as the thyroid gets affected. 6 - Depression causes fatigue, and I will bet your depressed, even if you dont conciously 'feel' depressed. [Hell, your fighting for your life and sanity.] 7 - Meds are processed by the liver, and if the liver is not working well serum levels build up creating fatigue. 8 - A lot of us Heppers report having Fibromyalgia in addition to HCV - a Fibromyalgia side is fatigue. 9 - You said you have low platelets - wala - fatigue. 10 - Diet - sugars and fatty foods creat fatigue. 11 - Low B vitamins, and then there is low Vitamin D. , some, or all of these things may be playing a part in your fatigue. There are many more things too. The thing is, the liver is possibly the most important organ in the body. When it goes out of wack, all sorts of related health conditions surface. And you have Ascites and Portal problems, so you know your liver is not functioning 100%. This is one reason that I wanted you to get back into the liver-doc's, and get some help. I hope it helps you. love don in ks ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for the support Romona, and I guess I didn't think about all the others on here too. It's just a low time right now and I don't really have anything to latch onto as far as hammering the virus out the window again.. but this is probably nothing that most everyone on here hasn't gone through too. I made some phone calls and have an appointment with another doctor on the 28th of this month..so hopefully some new doors will be opened..will pray for it to happen!I was just reading the recent post about Albumin, went to the website and read up on it.. and something I can't figure out is why my blood test of a couple weeks ago, shows my Albumin at 3.7 {within normal range] and my Total Protein is 6.9 also normal range??How can this be, when I feel like I've been run over by a truck yet test shows these as normal? Do you or anyone know? I wish I know what is going on.. Anyway...thanks for being here and thank you for the prayers!
