I started taking acidophilis years ago when I had so

much trouble with yeast infections due to my diabetes.

It is great stuff! I take 2 every day as a

preventative. Maybe that's why my bathroom always

smells so darn fresh!! LOLOLOL

Yeah, right! I can only imagine how much worse it

would be if I didn't take them!

I will have to get some of that chlorophyl to go with

them.

I started taking the acidophilus shortly after surgery (at Margaret's

recommendation). I do have days that I am very gassy but for the

most part I am " normal " . At least when I leave the bathroom the

wallpaper isn't coming off the walls!

Eat some yogurt too for the thrush, etc! I was having a little problem

while on the Prevpac (all the antibiotics were killing too much flora!)

and the yogurt worked fine.

Re: Re: Bowel Movements

Hi Molly,

Does the acidophlis really help? I have had a few nurses(co-workers)

tell my that

it will help stablize the flora in your body. I've been having a female

problem, my

Gyn put me on flagyl which gave me oral thrush, so now I'm on mycelex

tabs. I

don't seem to be having any luck taking the antibotics, I take my other

meds with no problem.

I'm sorry it doesn't help - it was a much easier solution for me than

more pills. I hope you find a good solution for you soon.

Acidophilus doesn't do anything for my wallpaper.

Not sure it helps me much either. I am now

taking three a day.

I do think acidophilus helps maintain a balanced flora in your

system. When Margaret recommended it to me, she said she has been

all-around much healthier (no yeast infections or any other

illnesses). I've been taking it since April and I haven't had so

much as a cold during that time (I have had one yeast infection).

Good luck!

I get Acidophilus Plus at GNC and take one pill in the morning and

one pill at night. I don't know what the dosage is, but it's the

only size they sell at the store I go to.

>>Sam used to go 7-9 times per day, resolved within 10 day sof stopping GFCF diet and starting Houston Enzymes. However, given I was giving him about 18 capsules per day and all sorts came out, I think what we did was move an impaction, runny stool is oftentimes new stool moving round old contrete crud. FWIW I would do an Oxypowder clear out, to make sure no crud in there and if that doesn;t sort things, a trial of Zyme Prime digestive enzyme, you can get samples to try www.EnzymeInfo.co.uk

hi, I was going to say a course of oxypowder and then enzymes. The oxypowder

has been amazing, we introduced that to my eldest bout 6/8 weeks ago, both his

therapist and his teachers have commented on how much more alert he his,

stronger physically, aware more of his surroundings, he is my most constipated

boy, but he was having similar issues, he was getting lots of runny poo during

the day as he had a huge impaction stretching up to just below his belly button

and was having episodes of tremendous pain, we no longer have any problems as

long as we continue to treat with the oxypowder, brilliant stuff.

enzymes will really help with the breakdown of his foods and go to some way to

alleviating some of his bowel problems.

good luck!!

talking about enzymes -Joe is on Creon 10000 with every meal and 5000 with

snacks-no great improvement with his loose stools- obviously there is no

undigested food but its just liquid...dont think he's impacted. Can digestive

enzymes cause diarrhoea?-I think he was better on Houston's- Have you heard of

this before ?.I thought Creon was supposed to be stronger.?

Croen will only work in certain pH and lower down. Certain digestive enzymes can tend to loosen stool, others can tend to firm like the Zyme Prime. Creon isn't stronger IMO, its different being animal based rather than plant based enymes which start working in the stomach as soon as they are in contact with the food. This is generally better for leaky gut types who need the food broken down before its gets to the gut

Our son had the same problem and Enzymes (we used chewables, AFP Peptizide and

zyme prime and amended his diet (GF/CF/WF). He was three and it took us about

four months as I recall. We saw other improvements too.

Probiotics really helped my son with loose stools.  I found three that suited him and rotated them, they had a very positive effect after just a week or so.  Also, just any gut related treatments such as enzymes will help.

Also, if you giving Vit C or Magnesium, these can loosen stools so might be worth checking your doses or reducing to see if that helps.- as a bit of hope, our son's stools were horrible horrible until we started biomed.  We were able to heal his gut adequately (which was probably mostly down to good luck and serendipity than to skill!) and he's been having well-formed, regular poos and good digestion for a few years now.  I would not have believed it when we started, he was in such bad shape.

Hi

Both HCV, and the HCV Treatment Meds affect the digestive tract.

You may experiance upper GI problems like loss of appetite or nausea.

You may also experiance lower GI problems like constipation, and/or diarrhea.

Lower GI problems can cause redness, itching, pain, burning, cramps, and bloating.

Bowel movements may also cause hemorrhoids, maybe with bleeding.

----------------------------------------------------------------

- My first suggestion is that you contact your treatment/liver doctor about this problem.

They will be able to DX the problem, and suggest/prescribe relief.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Other possibilitys are avoiding spicy, deep-fried, or greasy foods.

Avoid acid type foods - tomatos, oranges, etc.

[People with liver problems should avoid these anyways.]

Dairy and lack of fiber can cause loose stools also.

Drink plenty of water.

The HCV Treatment Meds will dehydrate you.

So will diarrhea.

I suggest at least 1 cup water every 30 minutes. [This is do-able]

You might try moisturized or medicated wipes [baby wipes], rather than dry paper to clean yourself.

You might try a bath after a bowel movement to relieve irritation.

[i have bowel movement problems, and find that a few drops of plain water on the paper helps clean, and bring relief.]
