Guest guest
My dear, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Yes, some of us got the condition from drug use back in the days when we were young, and the theme was " sex, drugs, rock n roll " or I certainly remember that time. Anyway, take care, read as much as you can. Check into natural supplements, etc. God bless. J  ________________________________ From: maria rudloff <mariafrancesr@...> Hepatitis C Sent: Tue, July 20, 2010 8:24:03 PM Subject: Re: newbe  Wow... Guest guest
Hi Deborah, before I started, i got a big glass of water with lemon. I am so not used to drinking water. I have to force myself. I am not a phanatic about natural foods but I really minimize my junk food. I went out and bought a 5th ave candy bar tonight, was bored.I really avoid any artificial chemicals, preservitives, colors etc. If it is not naturally red, then don't color it red. I used to take a lot of herbs but the ddocs told me that they are not really good for your liver. still has to process it. so I have to find a healthy balance of vitamins and herbs. I really have been fortunate. So far no symptoms. My immune system is really good, i don't usually get colds or flu. I kind of got nervous when I felt sick last week. Maybe I over reacted and I really just had a bug that was going around. I started to think, Oh my god I am starting to get sick and how often will I get sick etc. I call that my " Scarlet O'Hara day...Where will I go and what will I do " Sanity clicks back real soon. I guess my sense of humor doesn't translate well on paper, you have to place the back of your hand on your forehead for effect ande use a little accent. I have been eating a lot of tomatoes from my garden, can't wait for the fresh gren beans. no I am not a farmer just enjoy my little garden. I am fortunate to have a little piece of earth to plant. I think it is so therapudic. I leave little sacks of veggies and herbs on the steps of my neighbors .Well water is done and so am I. ________________________________ From: deborah brown <heaven_scent_in_55@...> Hepatitis C Cc: deborah kay mand <heaven_scent_in_55@...> Sent: Mon, July 19, 2010 10:05:44 PM Subject: Re: newbe  hi maria, sorry youre not feeling the best lately. i have had c for about 16 yrs now and found out about it going on 2 yrs now. i have to say that i feel totally normal,i havent had any sickness'es from this YET. i am a total health nut so maybe that is playing a role in giving my liver the extra support. i do not put anything on my skin that may be toxic.like thee other nite we were outside and the skeeders were out biting and hubby ask me if i wanted bugs spray,i dont put nothing on my skin.if i use perfume,i spray it on my clothes. i wash all my fresh veggies with a scrubby pad. i dont use sugar. i drink green tea first thing in the morn with turmeric in it which help clense the liver. i eat apples everyday which are good for warding off some cancers.i drink orange juice and apple juice everyday. i just heard also that the worst thing you can do for your liver is eating after 9pm because while we are sleeping the liver goes into a mode of clearing toxiants and if you eat it has to tend to that also.i eat a lite supper befor 6pm.i may have a yogurt or apple while im watching tv or a glass of pink gratefruit juice which i hear is good for the liver also. for breakfast i like oatmeal and so does the liver. i never take pills for a head-ache,i just drink a big glass of water with real lemon in it and my head-ache goes away within minutes.the past few months ive cut out fast foods and meat in general seeing the liver works hard to proccess meats.and fast food is plain out JUNK! hope i could be of some help! drinks lots of water with lemon, lemon water act as a blood purifier, lemon is a great liver tonic.!  http://health.learninginfo.org/health-benefits-lemons.htm, Read more: http://www.lifemojo.com/lifestyle/top-10-health-benefits-of-lemon-water-1422542#\ ixzz0uBhr2YWK  Read more: http://www.lifemojo.com/lifestyle/top-10-health-benefits-of-lemon-water-1422542#\ ixzz0uBhr2YWK From: maria rudloff <mariafrancesr@...> Subject: newbe Hepatitis C Cc: Hepatitis C Date: Monday, July 19, 2010, 9:30 PM     HELLO EVERYONE;I am overwhelmed at the response of the postings. I am really new to this and maybe I have not even accepted that I have hep C. I was quite naive about the severity of it all, and a little imbarassed to say that I have been relatively symptom free until recently. I have decided to not have treatment but maybe it is going to be time to reconsider. I guess I have been just burying my head in the sand.
Guest guest
hi deborah, not so much that the herbs were bad but just like any other medications they all must filter through your liver, why put anything not natural for the liver to deal with, just overload.I don't even like taking medications, i am very sensitive and a lightweight, i usually only take half of the dosage of anything. i was taking ginsing, valerian root, bromelain, bovine adrenals, passaflora, and others all including calcium lactate, magnesium, zink.I was a faithful visitor to the chiropractor who was also a herbalist who supplied me with various herbs for what ayles you.The doc told me that only milk thistle was proven to have any benefit for the liver. But I need to start a good vitamin and will probably add co enzyme Q10 and fish oil.The problem is that the herbal supplements do not have to pass AMA criteria, or I should say not all do, therefore they are very inconsistant. I am a big believer in herbs and natural healing but i took a step back the more I learned about the liver and how it filters everything. I never was much of a drinker but now I can not tolerate it. Even a small amount goes right to my head. I can have a great time without it. If I learn anything from all of you, i hope that is to drink water with lemon which I do not do much now.please just keep reminding me.itis not a habit yet. well TGIF no work tomorrow. have a good weekend. ________________________________ From: deborah brown <heaven_scent_in_55@...> Hepatitis C Cc: deborah kay mand <heaven_scent_in_55@...> Sent: Fri, July 23, 2010 7:18:59 AM Subject: Re: newbe  oh maria,i forgot...i wanted to ask you what herbs you were taking that your doc told you you shouldnt.and are you taking milk thistle, because my doc told me to take 2 things and thats milk thistle for the liver and vit. d3 which he says helps any deppression. After all, I am the mom and grandmom that everyone counts on. I am about as normal as they come. This is a world that I know nothing about. I have been reading a lot about C. In my job, I am vaccinated for A & B but wham I got C. I don't know what else to say except goodbye for now. Stay strong everyone, its just nice to see the support that you give each other.
Guest guest
hi deborah, not so much that the herbs were bad but just like any other medications they all must filter through your liver, why put anything not natural for the liver to deal with, just overload.I don't even like taking medications, i am very sensitive and a lightweight, i usually only take half of the dosage of anything. i was taking ginsing, valerian root, bromelain, bovine adrenals, passaflora, and others all including calcium lactate, magnesium, zink.I was a faithful visitor to the chiropractor who was also a herbalist who supplied me with various herbs for what ayles you.The doc told me that only milk thistle was proven to have any benefit for the liver. Guest guest
Hello Deborah, this is really freaky, the similar scenario, for me it is buster bar, thank goodness there is not a DQ close to my house. My daughter was over for dinner last night, I sent her home with a big bag of tomatoes and basil.I never had an ultrasound of my liver, I went for the biopsy right after diagnosis. I would really suggest that you do also. It actually made me feel quite better. They label from 0 to 6 in different categories, like inflammation, scarring etc. for the overall condition of your liver. My numbers were 0 or 1 in all categories. It would be a good point of reference for you in the future. If the numbers start to change then maybe I will have to revisit my thinking on treatment.Maybe my next test will be another biopsy ,just for accuracy, and if the numbers are still good then switch to ct scan. Go for the best if you can. There may be a time when my insurance changes and then I might have to compromise. I actually am having oatmeal for breakfast this morning, not a big fan but everyone raves about the benefits so I " ll give it a go. speaking of going..... bye,  ________________________________ From: deborah brown <heaven_scent_in_55@...> Hepatitis C Cc: deborah kay mand <heaven_scent_in_55@...> Sent: Thu, July 22, 2010 10:11:42 PM Subject: Re: newbe  lol, good girl, drink it all up thats funny because i also hate water,i cant drink it without lemon.i fill a big ball mason jar and drink it all up in a period of about 45 minutes first thing when i get up.im at war with a few wrinkles so water is great for that i have a garden too,and i do thee exact same,we share with our neighbors,i feel good doing that and we always have way to many tomatoes. i eat tomatoes everyday in the summer, great cancer fighters. i break down and eat my milkyway or hersheys with almonds, we need that, lol. i heard that icecream was bad bad bad but last yr i just had these almost everynite cravings for it well then i cut it out for about a month and then went to dairy queen and got a strawberry fudge sundae,i felt sicker than sick after i ate it,so i havent done that for awhile.  im glad you are feeling good.yeah i had an altrasound on my liver a few months ago and they said it all looked good BUT that doesnt mean deep inside where they cant see that there could be damage starting,im fully aware that a biopsy is the better way to go but i feel theres no need right now to worry about it because ive chosen not to do the treatment.my immune system is also very strong,i havent had a cold in yrs,ive never had the flu of any sort.so i guess im lucky there. ok,i just got home from work so i gotta get my feet up,i think i have a spur in my left heel, ouch, lol.you have a fantastic wk-end,hugs From: maria rudloff <mariafrancesr@...> Subject: newbe Hepatitis C Cc: Hepatitis C Date: Monday, July 19, 2010, 9:30 PM     HELLO EVERYONE;I am overwhelmed at the response of the postings.
