Guest guest
Thank you Jeff, for your imput. I too have done a bit of research on this topic, and have not found any scientific evidence that Coconut Oil in fact destroys the HCV virus, interrupts the HCV replication cycle, or does much to protect the liver as it is a saturated fat - and, as one, it can raise cholesterol levels. It is also possible that cholesterol can affect the liver adversely. I am not a medical professional or medical scientist, so must depend on what I read. If during my research, I find any substance that helps combat HCV, I will post my findings immediately. Seeing that I too am infected with HCV, this will benefit me also. love don in ks - search results - hepatitis C and coconut oil http://search./search?ei=utf-8 & fr=slv8-tyc8 & p=hepatitis%20c%20and%20coconut%20oil & type= - search results - cholesterol and liver health http://search./search?ei=utf-8 & fr=slv8-tyc8 & p=cholesterol%20and%20liver%20health & type= From: Jeff Burns <jeffburns777@...>Subject: [ ] coconut oil - good & bad. Date: Friday, April 22, 2011, 12:19 AM Nearly a year ago, I was researching coconut oil. I found a peer reviewed study from a Chinese University that did petre dish testing with the components of coconut oil; Lauric Acid, Myristic acid, Capyralic acid, Palmitic and Capric Acid were tested for their anti-HCV properties. The results were that Coconut Oil actually helped the Hep C Virus to grow rather than destroying it. I am also aware that a few well known health advocates thought that the acids in Coconut Oil cut up the viral chain and destroyed it; but they did not site any peer reviewed scientific research work when they said this.It seems like they assumed Coconut Oil killed HCV because it kills other types of virus. Perhaps they had a favorable disposition towards the oil because it has many good qualities and uses.I would like to see more scientific studies concerning this.Jeff------------------------------------
