Guest guest
It sounds like you have your stim turned up to high. When I have mine turned up to high, my legs shake to where I can't walk. Guest guest
The reason insurance companies require a psych evaluation is to be sure the patient is really suffering from pain and not seaking attention. It is hard to believe but there really are people out there who will go to all lengths to avoid going back to work. They also want to be sure that the person is ready to accept a foreign body being implanted in their body. There have also been cases of people who are addicted to drugs who think the pump is the answer to their prayers. Dorothy

Guest guest
Hi , Yes, if your spinal cord is being compressed by bone spurs and/or herniated discs in your neck that could be interfering with blood supply to the spinal cord and thus interfere with nerve transmissions from your brain to leg muscles, making your legs weak and clumsy. If compression of your spinal cord goes on long enough the damage can be permanent and can lead to paralysis. It's really important to have a spinal cord problem like this fixed sooner rather than later. However, generally and your doctor would have to determine this, big bone spurs and herniated discs in your neck are going to press on the nerve roots going out to your arms first. So arm and shoulder pain and numbness are usually going to be first symptoms rather than leg weakness. You didn't say where your previous 2 fusions were. If they were in the lower back, problems with failing fusions or new problems with other levels in the back are a much more common cause of leg weakness. Do you have back pain or sciatic pain along with leg weakness. Finally, how are your patellar reflexes. You know where you sit on a table and the doctor or you hits the bottom of the knee lightly to see it jump. If that reflex is very very brisk then that indicates irritation of the spinal cord, possibly compression. Anyway a doctor can do a neurological exam and get an idea of what's going on. Other possibilites are a little dizziness or it's your eyes or maybe peripheral neuropathy effecting the balancing nerves at the bottoms of your feet or a hundred other things. Sorry to turn this into an epic, but hope it helps. Rochelle -- In neck pain , <ljorichardson0912@...> wrote: > > > Could problems with the cervical spine cause falling. Guest guest
Well GangI sure don't want to take the light off Trudy - but, I had a couple of falls last night and it was scary. For whatever reason, I can't remember the first one. Only that I did go down here in the RV. But, the second one!! I've got a pretty good recollection about what happened. It's like Trudy and some of you others have described, one minute you are standing and the next you are on the floor for no known reason.I was in the hallway when it happened and I know something scrapped my back as I was going down; but, I just can't see it. Anyway, what really started to terrorize me was the fact that I couldn't get up!!! Then, I knew that I probably needed help and should get to a phone. Sure - it's at the other end of the RV. With lots of weakness, I finally managed to turn over or something; but, I got a hold of something that help me get up.I think I phoned my Mom, almost like asking permission to go to the hospital! LOL Immediately she was getting a hold of the brother who is still driving my T-Bird. Well, by the time he gets here, I've settled right down and just couldn't envision spending hours in the ER waiting for my turn. Oh yes, all you have to do in any ER is mention the word Heart and you are near thrown on a bed, hooked up to machines, with an IV into your hand!! And treated like the number one patient that has arrived. Still, I just wanted to sleep. So, I promised my Mom that I would have the phone right beside me and I went to bed. However, this was a very scary fall this time!! I think I will go to my Dr. on Mon and get sent for some tests. I sure don't want the same thing to happen again.Trudy, you already have appointments with a Neurologist, please tell him/her everything. My Mom swears that I was slurring my speech when I called and I just think of your stutter!! You've had this happening too long after, to blame it on treatment! It needs to be addressed. Mom sent me an article about strokes; but, I don't think you can read those can you?? Meaning that you are only here because of your IPhone. Then again, you can look it up yourself too.Luv Gloria
Guest guest
Gloria... you need to get checked and you need to not wait until Monday. You are describing a stroke. You can have a stroke without " normal " symptoms... and actually symptoms for women are sometimes much different than those of men. I had a stroke back in 2004 and the only symptom I had was what felt like a migraine.... only it lasted 26 days. Please have someone take you sooner instead of later to get checked out.. PLEASE. Like tonight would be great... Hugs.. please listen to me...
