Leona,

Of course, everyone is more than welcome to come to

the convention - where ever it is. I think it would

be great if we can get speakers who are 'experts' on

liver diseases to talk to us.

Were you able to get your enzymes stabilized with just

the pred? How many times a year do you have to go

back on it and for how long? - If I'm not being too

nosey.

Leona,

Has your doctor ever considered just putting you on lower doses of

prednisone but not taking you on and off the stuff? I've never had the ups

and downs of LFTs that others mention, and I wonder if it's not because I

always take both Prednisone and Imuran. I'm also in remission. I went

from end-stage liver disease and stage IV cirrhosis in November of 1997 to

a gradual normalization of my labs to their present nearly-normal levels

without a single elevation. My primary Hepatologist, incidentally, has

been in the US for 9 years and is from the University of Melbourne. I

believe that he did his AIH and general Hepatology studies in Australia and

he now has his professorship and is teaching in his field.

Take care,

Geri

Welcome to the group. I am so glad that you found us. Don't be

shy, if you have questions go right ahead and ask. As you can see

from our posts, we will talk about anything. We all have a lot of

weird things going on in our body's and this is a safe place to talk

about them and get help.
