Guest guest
Lucie - I found this one on recipgoldmine.com. Not much different, but just in case it works for him I thought I would send it over! SCALP TREATMENT, Dry, Tight Scalp 2 oz. warm olive oil 1 tsp. wheat germ oil 1/2 tsp. oil of rosemary 3 drops of lavender oil Section hair in 1-inch widths and dampen the scalp at each parting with a saturated cotton ball. Guest guest
I was just looking at a shampoo bar advertised in the LUSH catalog for banishing dandruff. It says that yeast-like microbes that live on the skin cause dandruff.... Anyway, their s'poo bar has the following ingredients: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Water, Cade Oil, Lavender Oil, Marigold Petals, Rose Petals. They say that the Cade Oil from the juniper tree takes care of the microbes while the lavender balances the scalp's oil production while the rose softens the skin. Hmm.. More than anyone wanted to know....?

Guest guest
Some itchy scalp/dandruff are caused by a yeast-type infection. This type of scalp problem can be controlled/helped by using Nizoral brand shampoo, which contains an anti-fungal medication. You might try it. My husband swears by it, used along with a tea tree oil shampoo. Hawkridge in Kenmore, WA A new question: (was Dandruff) this is long. sorry I'm sorry about the cross posting, this is driving me crazy! I don't have dandruff, but lately I've had a severly itchy scalp. . . . I wouldn't call it dandruff since the only way I will get flakes is if I have scratched it. Guest guest
I think I read something on their website about it. LUSH is not a franchise, but they do have partners (I think). I think I read something about them being in negotiations with someone from the states to start up a store there, but I'm not completely sure. It is very odd though that they aren't there though, wow, what an untapped market it is. ~ >From: Yaaruln@... >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Re:itchy scalp >Date: Wed, 1 May 2002 23:07:27 EDT > >In a message dated 5/1/02 9:31:04 PM Central Daylight Time, >Marijojo@... >writes: > > > > It's truly amazing to me that they are > > everywhere: saudia arabia, philippines, italy, all over Europe and not >one > > shop in the USA. wonder why not? > > > > > >Thanks. Guest guest
DO NOT Click on the link. I clicked on it and it took me to the web site. The web site is Infected with a system virus!!!!! This virus is called HTML_SADMIND.A and will go to your C:TEMPORARARYINTERNETFILES\CONTENT.IE5\13ERA16F\LUSHCANADA[1].HTM files. Luckily I have a good virus scanner and it caught it before it could infect the rest of my computer. I would contact the company but I have no idea what there email address is and basically in fear of even trying to find it through there web site. Please be careful out there online. Update your virus program as often as possible! I never knew you could get an HTML virus just from going to someone's web site. WOW :-( Plus on top of it when you see the page it shows you it uses alot of curse words. Go figure. People who are virus hackers generally don't care about offending anyone. Guest guest
Suzy- Sounds maddening! I don't know if there is any oatmeal shampoo made for people or not-but-they do make it for dogs. I get a brand at Walmart (Ol' Roy, I think)-smells heavenly-and it is oatmeal based for itchy, sensitive skinned dogs-like mine. Maybe that would help?!? I had trouble with an itchy scalp during my year of allergic reactions to foods-but that has gone away now, along with the reactions. Do you have any food allergies-or perhaps have become extra sensitive by heavy exposure to some allergen? I believe that what caused my year of discomfort was high exposure to some nasty, unknown compounds from working with a certain type of marine organism for an extended period of time. As I said, it took about a year of being away from this organism before the allergies/sensitivities slowly disappeared. I couldn't even eat chocolate without breaking out into hives- and getting an extremely itchy scalp. gail itchy scalp Hi all hope your summer is going well. hot here in the midwest. I remember people complaining about their skin itching and all the lotions that could be used, well I can't remmeber if anyone ever complained about their scalp itching but does anyone have any ideas??? Mine is driving me nuts. Used the coal tar shampoo, tea tree shampoo, scalpicin not much helps and so I am turning to the good people of the group to enlighten me with their vast knowledge and wisdom on all such matters of hep c. it is better after i wash it but does'nt last very long, maybe i could wash it 3 x a day i try not to scratch it cuz it just makes it worse but that is easier than it sounds. Husband says i have fleas haha I am doing welll, getting some things done around the house but starting to get a little bored at times,, I have tons of things to do around here though. Have been working outdoors so have never sweated so much in my life, literally. I was not one that really sweat that much but figure I am ridding my body of the toxins in it. Guest guest
Suzy, Try antihistimines. I had to double the doses to get my itching to stop, but don't double without talking to your doctor about it. My doc sent me to an immunologist. Creams and stuff might soothe for a moment but they won't get rid of it, nothing will, prolly, till your immune system settles down. Try Benadryl or Clarinex, the one that is over the counter, I forget the name sorry, it didn't work for me but benadryl did. If the benadryl works, then go to your doc and ask for some non-drowsy antihistimines. Benadryl can be dangerous in that it impairs our brain. Guest guest
Benadryl (any antihistimine) can make you groggy, slower response time, etc. so it's not recomend for driving or operating machinery yadda yadda ya know. My doc told me that he felt driving on Benadryl was as bad as driving drunk. It makes you drowsy, that's why it's used in sleep aids. Check with your doctor too about any symptom you have, because it could be something, you just never know. I had my itching over 2 years, and suddenly it's just GONE! I've been off antihistimines for a month now YIIIPPPEEEEEEEEEE. I was taking 2 Brovex every 8 hours, one Zyrtec, and several Atarax every day and then sometimes THAT didn't even help, plus all the creams and lotions. Guest guest
Hi there Yes my scalp and body were both itchy. Not washing your hair too often helps i found my hair very unmanageable while on combo and just wore a hat. As for bathing I did not have bubbles or anything in the bath, I stopped using soap and GP advised washing with Aqueus Cream (similar to E45),it helped and if I really itched I used the cream with 1% menthol in it this helped to cool my skin and stop me scratching. hope this helps take care Anne -- Re: Itchy scalp HI.This make a lot of sense. My Doc. told me to take only luke-warm showers.I have a shower only twice a week and my skin is much better and I don.t smell.Use baby-oil when yr skin is dry.The more chemicals you put on yr skin the worse it gets.Try washing your hair in rainwater.Willem. Guest guest
Cosmetic Mafia! haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Willem you are too much, but so right! Chemicals chemicals everywhere. Chemicals chemicals, do we dare? My immunologist also said lukewarm to cool showers, and not so many each day. I tend to shower twice a day. Before I did hep c treatment, I had very oily skin and hair. I was in my 40's and still got pimples from dirt and oil. Didn't help I worked in warehouses and factory type settings. So when I was working, I showered 3 times a day, once before work, once after, then after workout from the gym when I got home. Now tho, I'm not working so no gym lol. It's hard for me not to bathe at least once a day. I found products with bath oils much better for me now. After treatment, my skin didn't oil up as much as it used to, tho it's better than on treatment. And of course, it's summer in Texas, if that doesn't make ya shower a few times a day, nothing will! hahha. Good luck on the itching. Guest guest
Willem, rainwater sounds wonderful only it hasn't rained here forever, and then last night it did but I was half way across town and my hair did get washed inthat rain water. I got soaked it was a torrentail downpour. thanks for the suggestions i need to take a shower more often inthe summer because of the temperature but I have found that to be true in the winter months for me.. skin gets much less dry if I don't shower enough. I have been sweating more this summer than I can ever remember and so sometimes take 2 showers and i try to use natural ingredients in fact my daughter just brought some wonderful soaps she made from all natural ingredients. I can't wait to try them. She wants me to try to sell some she is in school, trying to make a little extra money , she made oatmeal and honey, mango, avocado, raspberry, and others i will have to ask her she just got here from Florida, and a coffee soaked in loofah sponge that is great for oil and grime. she said she put crisco on her hands and then used it and it worked great, don't know what else is in that one. will have to get all the ingredients. they smell wonderful in the wrapping even. she is out with friends at the time or would ask her now. so i will have a wealth of natural soaps to use. I just need not to try to scatch my head because once i do it gets worse. talk to you alll later Suzy _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
