Guest guest
That's a tough one for me as cinnamon is one of my favorite flavors and if they ever came out with a cinnamon douche I'd probably give up food completly, try them both. I carry a tin of it with me in case I get a headache or a bit of conjestion. If you do purchase it, read the paper work in the package as it works on a variety of ailments. Just another headache trying to get by. danny Motley <dmotley@...> wrote: Danny, do you recommend the white (more minty) or red (more cinnamon)? See? I’ve done my research. Guest guest
It’s good that they make fun of you, shows they DO know their lower case letters! You’re going to be a teacher they remember well later on, because you are different. De Re: New Topic - What a Week !!!!!!!!!!!!! I hit all four of those subjects. Monday was the first day back at school post-hurricaine. Most of the kids lost everything and were crying, had a halloween party for them and dressed them up. I've always been from the school of thought that when things are really going to shit, you should just have a party to get your mind of it. The party even made the local rag, pictures and all that shit, as how some of the teachers were handling that day. The school was closed after that because the air quality was so bad and everything was still wet. Tue. and Wed. we were bussed to the high school auditorium for school, thrills with all those kids in one large room and sharing it with the hurricaine shelter. Thur and Fri. they sent us to another school on a different island. It's been such a zoo that I worked full time all week which will happen again next week. Ergo, except for the exaustion I really haven't thought about HCV too much. Wed. night I made cookies, Thur. night bread pudding, Fri. I made eggplant parmisan, I thin that I'm trying not to think of HCV by cluttering up my mind with other activities. On a lighter note the kids make fun of me because I don't know my lowercase letters. I've been printing in caps for so long that I've forgotten them. They've also told me that I don't look like any of the other teachers because I wear necklaces and have tattoos, also that I always wear shorts. I'm going to read about " Clifford the big red dog " maybe that will stimulate my mind, especially if I put Neil Young on while reading. Love and hugs to all, danny

Guest guest
Sorry mi luv, but public chastisement maybe tough but in my non-xtian brain it is not love. Tough love has it's merits, but within the confines of a private conversation. By chance did you ever read iel Hawthornes tome "The Scarlet Letter" it's about an angel flying too close to the ground. Don't we all take that path on occasion. Deb, these are my thoughts and as always I welcome yours. Do no evil, think no evil and see no evil are the stepping stones to a very boring life. So mote it be, love and hugs. danny ps. Don't you know that you can catch Hep C from tattoos, careful sweetie.Deb <posttransplant@...> wrote: I am definitely not a Saint far from it not God either. The cycle must be broken at all costs even if it is tough to give and receive. Admittance, honesty, sharing and remorse is steps that must be taken or it allows for the destructive behavior to continue to the point of death. It is me who knows Liz better than anyone else here, as a Sister. I would continue to be her enabler, it would be a sin and a damn shame on my part if I said nothing and allowed it all to continue. I respect others and their confidentiality with me and try my best to not discuss anything in group that was not first brought up by them. I love Liz to much to not try with all I can do to help her. My problem - I love - give to others and allow others that I deeply care for to many benefits of the doubt, to many chances before Tough Love kicks in and hopefully I haven't waited to long in the process. Yep, I have also received very Tough Love from people that cared enough for me. You try asking Liz direct questions in group about herself, her problems, how, whom and the steps she has taken for professional help and see if you get answers. If we all stuck our heads in the sand avoided any unpleasant or difficult situations with others we wouldn't be a support group but only looking at our lives, relationships, others and the world through rose colored glasses. Guest guest
Danny of course I knew you where there I gave you the voodoo doll. Sorry I missed your call and no I haven't received the other call yet. Didn't you get out of the hospital post transplant on my 50th????? My Friend you know very well all the details of March and April for me and how it's not my favorite months of the year. Ok I'll share it again but must warn members if they also read this it ain't pretty or for the squeamish but it IS my HCV Life. The short version. My Mom was in a coma in-pt hospice care and passed away on your birthday and my mother-in-law the next year on the same day April 11th. March 3rd my nephew and donor was unplugged missing to much of his brain to survive from an auto accident but miraculously all vital organs were not damaged and he was a full organ donor and saved many lives. March 4th I went in for my TP in the early morning hours for over 10 hours of surgery was stopped cause I went into respiratory arrest and failure brought back than 2nd TP surgery again for hours to finish and close on the 8th. It turned into almost a months stay in the hospital because of many complications gangrene for 1 and sent home just in time to visit my Mom 1 last time. I got to tell her how much I loved and respected her that it was now ok to let go and be in peace but please hold on and don't pass away on my birthday. She heard me and passed away 2 days later. I was down on complete bed rest and under heavy drugs for a long time but kept fighting through them - wow you talk about colors - in restraints for playing with and pulling out tubes and lines. I was bored and even in restraints found I could still squeeze the tubes enough to make all the machines bells and whistles go off and kept the staff hopping. It was pure hell smothering like drowning out of water and learning to breathe and walk all over again. The special bed and plastic leg inflating tubes was neat for circulation. I was stoned as can be and remember the bed inflating and rolling under me and the leg tubes. I was being pumped up and rolled and didn't need to lift a finger. Had to be readmitted 2 in-pt stays after that for blockages more surgery and IV antibiotics followed by a full round of weeks of out-pt 3 X's a week IV antibiotics and more debridement surgeries. My stitched in life line cath. and all ports stayed in for a very long time. I feel a little better for sharing but as I said March and April are not my favorite months of the year even for my birthday. And if keeps messing up my email messages and changing the font and text I just may shot my puter than I would feel all better. My Friend Danny and All Others - Thank You for putting up with me cause I know with all me and my family have been through and now again with my HCV and other biggie stuff I scare the hell out of other people and for themselves. It does bother me when members say how brave and strong I have been through it all. Stubborn - hardheaded and mean as sin I'll agree too. It does take strength and bravery to fight for your own life but it bothers me a great deal when others don't and don't see the light at the end of the tunnel for themselves. But the many lessons learned is that I am the exception to the rules. I have a very severe chronic case of HCV and other medical problems and still able to raise some hell and enjoy my life. I just did this past Saturday and we enjoyed the hell out of it. My Friends - Miracles Still Do Happen For Us Ordinary Folks. Love Y'all and Hang In There or I Get To Kick Your Butts. Now I feel better. Take Care and God Bless. Deb

In 2004 I endured 48 weeks of treatment but unfortunately the virus returned 3 months post treatment. I contracted hepatitis when I had a blood transfusion whilst undergoing renal dialysis in the Royal Newcastle Hospital.Of course then I was diagnosed with non A - non B hepatitis. I found out it was HCV about 12 years ago after a life insurance examination. My LFT's have always been pretty good and it hasn't really affected my life too much but I do think it has contributed to my cardiac problems. For the last 4 years the doctors have been treating me for suspected ulcer and gall bladder pain and I think the fact I was HCV pos made this a easy diagnosis. During this time I have had colonoscopys, gastroscopys, ultra scans of everything in my abdomen (all normal) unbelievable amounts of anti gastric type medications but no heart type investigations which didn't bother me because I believed I had a strong heart although I have become increasingly tired and weak which I attributed to my HCV and age..I now know that I do not have ulcers or gall bladder problems. I didn't get to have a ECG until 6 days after I suffered a heart attack. I had been in agony for 16 days but the doctors kept telling me that it was gastrointestinal pain and that they were doing all that they could I didn't even realise that I had suffered the heart attack until after the ECG. I was admitted to the coronary care unit had a angiogram and told that I had 3 blocked arteries all too blocked for stents.Anyway now I am re booked for Thursday the 23rd of August for the bypass so good luck to me for then.Danny No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
Sounds good, how far is that? (Many of us are in the U.S.) I need to get walking again myself! Hugs, Sheena DT <dannytodd@...> wrote: Thank you Sheena. I went for 2 x 250 metre walks today which would have been an effort pre op so that is an encouraging sign.DannySheena wrote: Wow, Danny what an ordeal, you did REAL good! So glad to have you back, you take care of yourself! Hugs and Prayers, Sheena DT <dannytoddiinet (DOT) net.au> wrote: I have made it home but I'm still feeling sore and sorry for myself but relieved to have made it out the other end. My brother took this picture approx 4 hours after surgery. They operated at 8am Tuesday, finished approx 12pm, extubated me at 7pm. I stayed in ICU until 12.30pm Wednesday when I was transferred to the post surgery ward. Stayed there until Sunday 2pm when I was discharged. I would have made it home a couple of days earlier only I had a episode of Atrial Fibrillation (200 beats per minute for 7 hours) My liver performed exceptionally well throughout my ordeal. It must still love me even after the way I have treated it.Thank you for your prayers.Dannyelizabethnv1 wrote: Welcome to the group , I will be keeping you in my prayers for your surgery . Please let us know how it goes ? Allot of doctors get tunnel vision when they treat someone with hep c . They tend to think all our problems arise from the hep and so they miss important elements when they care for us . An introduction Hello everyone.I'm a newbie too although I'm sure that I was here a few years ago. I didn't think that I would be posting this soon as I was scheduled for a triple coronary artery by-pass operation yesterday. I made it as far as the operating table. All hooked up 5 minutes from the anaesthetic when they cancelled due to an emergency case. They could have operated on me but there wasn't another Intensive Care bed available. All open heart ops go to ICU for 24 to 48 hours post op here.I am 53 years old. I live in Canberra Australia and have been HCV pos since 1982 or so. I am genotype 1a - 1b.
