I was a little surprised to be sure. Nobody in my family has ever had eczema. This doctor was an older dermatologist, and he had on one of those magnifying dealybobs on his head, so I am sure he got a good look at it, he was very nice and very professional, quite the nerd looking! I was suspicious of this diagnosis too, because it is right there where I got stung, but ya know, eczema is so common, I am sure he knows it when he sees it. There must be some kind of connection to the bee sting, but whatever, maybe I am having an allergic reaction to the venom that manifests in eczema? In any case, I will treat it as eczema and hope it goes away quick and never comes back. 's post has me a little concerned--poor little guy has been dealing with it for so long!

Thanks --

Patty

Hey girl I am really suspicious of this diagnosis that you got. I would def seek another opinion. If you never had this before and then suddenly get it from a bee sting it seems pretty suspicious to me, don't you think so? I am curious how that would bring that on. Anyhow, I don't know allot about excema but I do know that it is often genetic, although not always. I don't think it is that common to get it when your older, again I could be mistaken and would have to do a little more research on it but I really am not so sure that is what you have at this point. I say let it heal up and see what it looks like and then maybe get another Dr to check it out. Was this Dr a dermatologist or just an ER doc? Ya know they can make mistakes for sure. Anyhow hope you find out what it really is. Something just does not sound right to me.hugs

Patty if there is one thing I have learned in all my 12 years working

in the medical field and in some of the best hospitals with the best

proffesionals in the medical field it is that they do not always know

everything at all. I mean I worked at Stanford and even there, one of

the most world renowned facilities in the world I found that those

Dr's did not have all the answers either. I am sure that there is a

very good chance you don't have a true case of excema, as it is too

coincidental that you should pop up with this so soon after you got a

bee sting, and in the same place. You could have just a simple case

of contact dermititis. Simply a rash. Who knows for sure, but it

seems suspicious to me. So I would do the things your thinking of

already, all the natural stuff and see what happens. I would not let

this stress you out. I really just have a sneaking suspicion that

this will go away and not give you a bunch of problems. Geeze

sometimes all this stuff makes you wonder about going to Dr's doesn't

it? Ha!
