Guest guest
Hi Rita, There are only two reasons you really need to have Dr. Blais analyze your implants. One) to find out if they are contaminated, and with what, so you know better how to go about treatment. For instance, if you have a fungus overgrowth, you would want to treat for fungus. If you have a bacterial overgrowth, you would want to treat for the bacteria, or mycoplasma. Of course, you can just make the assumption that you have both, and treat for both and try to get better on your own. Two) to have a record of your implant manufacturer, condition of the implants, (shell degradation, valve defect, etc.) and whatever other information he gives about the actual specifics of your implants. This would be for legal purposes primarily. He charges various amounts for various reports. If you do not intend to pursue legal action, then you really don't need to worry about it. However, if you would LIKE to know what your implants are contaminated with, this might be a worthwhile analysis. It is totally up to you. Here is his info: Dr. Pierre Blais, Innoval 496 Westminster Ave. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2A 2V1 613.728.0687 FAX 613.728.8688 I would suggest giving him a call and asking him what he would recommend, given your primary objectives. He is a wonderful man to talk to. It was recommended I have them sent to Dr. Blais. I need to know more about this because I do not know what Dr. Blais does, actually. If this would lead to possible treatment, then I am interested, if it is for possible litigation, I am not interested. Also, what kind of cost range are we talking about?Any info would be greatly appreciated. : )Rita
