there is information on far infrared sauna all over the internet. you can

poke around on google and find lots of stuff

i researched them for a few months before purchasing. far infrared is

different than infrared, so be careful to distinguish. there are cheap units

for under 500 dollars that use a vinyl type material as a tent. then there

are the dome types that cover about half your body and you can lie down

underneath them. then there are the wooden box types. there a few different

fir emitters. many of the companies use the same emitters, and a few

companies use their own proprietary type of emitter. there are also fir

lamps than can be used on a specific part of the body, but probably wont

cause you to sweat

sherry rogers mentions them in her books and is a big proponent of this

technology for detoxification.

from what i understand they will lower blood pressure, to answer your

question. many people who do not feel well in traditional sauna due to the

extreme heat, feel well after using the fir because the temperature does not

get high.

personally, i am a real skeptic about most everything in the alternative

health arena. there is just alot of bs floating around everywhere.

thankfully, this is one device that has surpassed my expectations in a very

short amount of time. i am looking into becoming a dealer as this is one

thing i believe would be helpful for just about everybody, regardless of

health status.

for some people it might be beneficial to start off very slow, until their

system can handle sweating alot. there is a group called cfs first aid,

where the guy has come up with a poor mans sauna by using two lamps in the

bathroom. they will heat up the bathroom and he claims it works just as well

as a sauna.

a few summers ago when i started juicing heavily, during a heatwave, i began

to perspire heavily. it felt really good, as it was the first time in a

while i has done so.

after the heat wave, i wasnt able to perspire like this. and i am not able

to exercise heavily because of cfs. so when i learned about this technology

bells started going off in my head. a session in these fir saunas is

supposed to be equivalent to an extended cardiovascular workout. i have

found this to be true. there is a great sense of relaxation afterward, just

like after a really good workout.

before purchasing i narrowed it down to two companies. saunex and saunacore.

i believe both make truly excellent products. the saunex uses a plastic type

container where your head pops out the top so you can breathe fresh air.

they use their own emitters. the saunacore is a high quality cedar box where

your whole body is inside, just like a regular sauna. i tried both, and

liked the saunacore much better. i had also tried regular sauna at the

health club, and i didnt sweat much so it just irritated me. anyway, i am

shamelessly plugging these things because they are great.

if you were inclined you could probably build your own. all you need is some

emitters, and a wooden box to sit in.
