Guest guest
HISTORY (Questions Below): A couple of months ago I almost certainly passed a Gallstone. I spent a very uncomfortable night with what I thought at first was really bad gas. As the night progressed, my wife (a nurse) started asking questions and figured it was probably a Gallstone. I gather it wasn't a " serious " attack by most measures but it wasn't comfortable. When I felt better in the morning, my wife's only comment was " there is never just one " . A few weeks later I was at the doctor's office for my annual physical and I mentioned the event. He immediately ordered an ultra sound (that I haven't had yet, but probably will soon) and started talking about " diseased Gall Bladders " and surgery. This seemed pretty like a pretty radical " first guess " based on the information that I gave him and understandably it didn't set too well with me. Oh, yeah and one other thing mixed in here somewhere: my wife happened to see my stool one day and said that the tan color almost certainly indicated gall bladder problems. Don't get me wrong, I think western medicine has its place, but this was all just a little too pat for me. I had read parts of Dr 's book a couple of years before and decided there was no way I was undergoing an operation without trying a flush first. So I read three or four of the Internet sites, sorted out what looked like the common elements and did a flush. I got lots of " green floaters " . Hundreds, literally. To many to count. A few the size of quarters (only round) or bigger, but most smaller. While it is a bit much to drink that much oil (though I like lemon <grin>), it was otherwise a relatively gentle process. Much easier than I had expected. My stool has darkened up again and while still " light in color " , it isn't tan either and looks pretty normal. So, mostly seems like the start of a success story. The mind always has questions though. <grin> QUESTIONS: 1. My wife was out of town and so only saw a few of the stones that refused to flush. She put on gloves and said basically that they were too soft. She admitted they where very high in bile because of the green color, but otherwise refuses to believe they are stones. I wish I had saved some of the larger waxier once for her, but I had thrown them away by the time she got home. I guess I could go either way. I read Dale's analogy of mixing Gasoline and Grease. I agree with him on one level, but I also believe the body is an incredibly complicated machine with lots of parts and processes. I doubt it is as simple of Gasoline and Grease . . . there are LOTS of other processes at work as well. Still in reading his description, I found his enlarged Bile Duct to be an " indicator " . Not proof, but a strong indicator. Seems to me that if these are stones, there should be another indicator that I haven't seen anyone mention. That would be (for those that do repeated flushes) that over time the stones should be smaller. As you get rid of the stones that have been there for awhile, seems like what is left should be smaller and smaller except for the occasional straggler. Has this been folks experience generally? 2. The other thing on my mind is my cholesterol which has been creeping up for years. It has now crossed some magic mark and the doctor wants to put me on medication. I was wondering if flushing all the bile (which has lots of cholesterol in it) on a periodic basis can help to lower blood cholesterol levels?
