Take care, Pamella Hi Pamella, Epsom Salts are not a sodium, but magnesium sulfate, so don't think they will make you retain water?? But I'm not 100% sure of that. I do know they make me very thirsty, so I sip water when needed. They do a great job of cleaning out the colon, and I think they do that by pulling water into the colon from the body, as many laxative's do?? Any magnesium has a relaxing affect on the smooth muscle tissue, ES relax the biliary ducts. I tried doing the flushes in the past without using the Epsoms and, for me, at least, they weren't as effective. I only use the two doses at night, and don't drink in the morning but do enema instead. It's not all that bad, you just realize it's for your health, and drink it down. I use the flax seed oil along with olive oil, rather than 1/2 cup of olive oil, I do 1/4 of flax seed and 1/4 of olive, some I've talked too do 100% of one or the other, but they are both such good oils. The oils are only for causing the gallbladder (and the liver) to contract to expell it's contents. That's what the gallbladder does naturally whenever we eat fat, you're just taking advantage of a natural process, but making it a bit more dramatic by taking so much oil on an empty stomach :-) Hope that makes sense :-) BTW, have been passing lots more pea size and smaller stones this afternoon, but am not saving all, just the ones that have been coming out " clean " :-) Will do a picture soon. Guest guest
, congratulations on passing that big stone. It sounds like your cleanse has been very effective so far. I have been very interested to read all that you do to fight inflamation and infection during a cleanse. Garlic is a truly amazing herb, isn't it? I hope you'll post the link to your new photos when you get them online. Guest guest
I agree, the Epsom salts seem to dry me out, and my husband has to really work not to get dehydrated when he does a cleanse. I don't think you need to worry about retaining water when you do a cleanse, Pamella. Luci > > Ckaudia. > > When you do your flushes do you the flax seed oil in the > >place of the epsoms salts. Guest guest
Thanks for the link, . Your story is very interesting and the photos were helpful. I had to laugh at your description of your meal! I don't think I could face peas on the day I'd done a gall-bladder cleanse.
