Hi Everyone...

33-year-old male here who recently discovered from the doctor (today)

about having gallstones and a " fatty liver " and I'm looking for

advice from anyone.

When the doctor said " no more alcohol ever " my jaw hit the floor -

not that I'm a daily consumer, but I have a weekend binge here and

there since my college days. Hence the reason for the above situation.

Now that I know of the problem I have, the doctor could only give me

the advice of no alcohol and no Tylenol. Does anyone have any other

suggestions in terms of diet or ways to restore the liver I've been

destroying with beers?

Also... with the holidays upon us, the socialization fear also has

hit me a little bit of the " peer pressure " situation and explaining

to people unfamiliar with this disease.

While I fraternize with many people and have many parties coming up,

do you have any suggestions on how to fit in again - going from the

drinker to the sober monitor? Do you think it is OK to have " non-

alcohol " beer (Sharp's, O'Doul's) or will they affect my liver as

well? I think it would " help " get over the fact of not being able to

drink beer by having a N/A one, but I would like to know if I can or

cannot drink that.

If anyone has any good suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Feel free to e-mail me directly and thanks for your time.

Darron M.
