Guest guest
I have had acne all my life. One thing I have learned is not to listen anymore to doctors, nor will I pay anymore money to solve this problem. I have read that acne is caused by a hormonal imbalance and a liver cleanse might help. How do I get started? how do I clean my colon first and then do a liver cleanse. How often should I do a liver cleanse. Help, Help, help. Can someone tell me if their acne cleared up after a cleanse and where do I begin. Thanks everyone for your responses. Guest guest
My son and granddaughter have had acne problems from the teen years onward. About 30 years ago I read that some acne was caused by a zinc deficiency and gave my son zinc supplements. As long as he took the supplements his acne cleared up. I haven't seen zinc in supplement form for ages and I know that you don't want to over do the doses. My granddaughter hasn't found anything to take care of hers. A woman on another list clears hers up by eliminating all dairy products, including anything that contains milk, casein, etc. Don't know if the flush will help but it sure won't hurt. Guest guest
The basic premise behind the skin/bowel connection is that your skin is the body's final organ of elimination (first bowel, then kidneys, then liver, then lungs, then skin), and when you have skin problems such as acne or eczema, your other eliminative organs are overworked and unable to keep up, and toxins are being eliminated through your skin. Thus a bowel cleanse program, followed by a liver/gallbladder flush, might very well clear up skin problems. I have seen graphic pictures of eczema being healed through such a cleanse. Check out the following link for Gray's products. Unlike many colon cleanse products, you don't fast with the Holistic Horizons line. Instead, you adhere as closely as possible to a non-toxic diet of fruits, grains, sprouts and vegetables, which over time allows the herbal tablets and psyllium husk mixture to work on loosening and removing old mucoid material from your bowel instead of only dealing with the new mucoid matter created by dairy products, meat, fish, and to a lesser degree, soy. Gray also puts out a booklet on intestinal cleansing that explains in great detail the premise behind cleansing your colon. http://www.holistichorizons.com/index.htm That said, you may also want to consider the Proactiv skincare products. I have seen similar product lines in Sav-On that are less expensive, and use the same ingredients. The glycolic acid keeps your pores unclogged, which keeps pimples from forming, while the benzoyl peroxide kills the skin bacteria that commonly cause acne. Unfortunately I have developed a sensitivity to benzoyl peroxide, which my dermatologist said happens with some people, but until that happened (which was not from Proactiv), benzoyl peroxide kept my skin completely clear. You may also want to check out Perricone's anti-acne diet book. I have his anti-aging book, which warns against foods like sugar due to their inflammatory effect on cells, and can really tell the difference when I slip and eat sugar. Hope this helps. Hang in there.
