Noah is just on the Mylanta right now. We have been through all the reflux meds and he just didn't tolerate them. He is doing OK now. He still has some pretty bad episodes. I still have to give him rescue breaths occasionally. He was in the hospital because he did not vomit with his episodes. He choked and would stop breathing. He wore an apnea monitor until he was about 6 months old. He would also stop eating, we think that he associated food with pain. So he wouldn't eat and he would get dehydrated. We had him on a feeding tube for a while. He has also had 5 seizures unrelated to the reflux but those hospitalized him for a while. We are learning what foods trigger episodes in him. It is tough to have an older baby who still spits up but we are learning to deal with all the ups and downs with it. We do know that he is going to have to have another endoscopy soon because they have seen what they think are cysts on the back of his throat. Guest guest
Hi Susie and Mama, Thanks for your posts. I feel for your situation(Susie) and was not trying to imply anything negative about you or your experience. The reason I joined this list was to chat and connect with others who have done many of these cleanses and get some insights from them(as well as possibly share some of my own). I was a bit frustrated with the posts I had read mainly because this cleanse is SO CHALLENGING that 99% of those I've met who eat very strict diets and do lots of other health therapies don't have the courage/discipline for this. I meant my post more as just a motivator for those people who have done some flushing to really use that same power to fully reclaim their health in all areas. I believe that if you can commit and deidicate yourself to flushing you can do just about anything. That was my real intention, regardless of how it came across. The softening protocol I follow is fairly traditional--I take Oxymag(a very strong laxative) along with 20-30 drops of Orthophosphoric acid and 2-3 capsules of malic acid(instead of apple juice)--each three times a day. I also do blended raw food only and this way my bowels stay very open and are super easy to clear out by the time I get to my flush day(usually the fifth day). On the flush day I do epsom salts to dilate the gallbladder ducts and lately coffee enemas(immediately after drinking the oil) an so there it is literally nothing in my intestinal tract when I drink the oil. Since my intestinal tract is so clear, the stones start coming out very quickly and I experience little or no nausea(although I often did in the very beginning because of how toxic I was). Another thing that really helps me is to take as much lipase enzymes as possible 3-4 four hours after the flush to really help break down the oil. This is another great tool to help prevent that nauseating/sick feeling. I realize that this is a fairly extensive protocol for most people but for me it has been my chief goal for this year above all other things-- therefore I have had no problem temporarily making it 75% of my entire life. But I understand others who cannot or would not want to devote this much energy to it. Lastly, I agree with you that everyone's different and some don't seem to need to do as many as others. For some reason I seemed create stones more easily than others and would guess that I had at least 4000(maybe 5000) when I started flushing initially. It has been hard work and I have really dedicated and put most of my energy this year into this process and I am so grateful and happy that I have. Thanks for the kind words and support and I hope others with experience will also see these discussions and post their experience/insight. Thanks again! Guest guest
Tony, I appreciate the details that you go into concerning your flushes. But how do you feel since you started doing the flushes. What are the health improvments? So interested to know as I want to get started with the flushes. Thanks. Guest guest
Tony; Excellent letter. It is true that doing the cleanse is not much more different from doing the other things that make for better health. There is only one thing I would note regarding the use of epsom salts and that is it's not a dialator of the ducts but a softening agent that helps them to be more elastic for the passing of the stones to be done with greater ease. Epson Salt's softening ability is well recongnized by many who do baths for the purpose of softening the skin, which is the largest organ of the body. Guest guest
Hello, Tony, Your regimine for flushing is very interesting. It is very true that there are many ways to approach flushing the GB, and people's attitudes about their diets vary just as much. Speaking only for myself, I have found that I get the same results doing a simple program as a more complex...sometimes more stones, sometimes less. I have simplified so much after doing this since the mid-1980's. In fact last time, I didn't even drink the most simple of preparations, apple juice, as much as I should have and had amazing results with my flush, the largest stone I've ever passed included, and this time slept right through it. I agree that earlier flushes made me feel worse, and do agree that it is to do with how toxic the contents of the gallbladder and liver were, the reason why it's good to get the stones, liver and gallbladder contents out of the small intestines as quickly as possible after the flush so that it isn't re-digested into the system. There's pictures and some details at my web page in the signature lines below. I am not as strict about my diet, and do eat carbohydrates. I like basmati and wild rice, deboles artichoke pasta, bread that is rich in grains. I will eat desserts, etc., when I'm out at dinner or party, but not much of a dessert eater at home. Herbal supplements, etc., that I like to use for my Gallbladder are included at my web page re my flushes. This last time in November, my system was quite upset for a few weeks after the flush...by that I mean lots of intestinal gas, etc., which lead to my adding more probiotics and taking an over the counter chewable anti-gas, antacid product that has helped me get past that. Since I know antacid products inhibit acids that aid digestion, I also took an enzyme digestive aid called Proactizyme...I do that anyway, at my age most need it. Now I'm doing quite well, and just as subtly as foods left my diet that aggravated my gallbladder, I find them coming back into my diet, so that is a good thing! I'm improving! So that's a little bit about me. I will continue to flush at least every 6 months, as I believe a stonemaker will continue to make stones, but that's just my humble opinion. Guest guest
Hi Tony, You bring up some good points. I hope you have or will spent some time in the archives. Many of us here now have written fairly in depth about our experiences - not to mention those that have moved on from this list. Most people are not going to continually rehash all their past experiences for new comers, but the archives is a valuable resource Of course, if you have a specific question or experience to share, you will probably get responses... Thanks for the account of your cleanses. Vince > Hi Susie and Mama, Thanks for your posts. Dale, I think by softening, you mean that the magnesium in the epsoms salts have a relaxing affect on smooth muscle tissue. This inhibits contractions in the ducts, and makes for easier passage of stones...I think we are both saying the same thing in a different way :-) Happy holidays >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ; I agree whole heartedly with your presentation of what it does.
