Guest guest
I am a recent member because lately I have experienced gallstone symptoms at 61 yrs of age. I have read many postings on the subject, and what stands out most is that no one is commenting on the prevention of gallstones once 'flushed'. The most extreme case was 80 flushes. Come on, folks, whither common sense? Obviously stones will come back, if the underlying causes are not discovered and remedied. I happen to be a published author on medical nutrition, and I use as a part of my research, " Clinical Pearls " , a compilation on a CD for searching over 12 years of nutritional medical abstracts from over 4000 medical journals internationally. (IT Services, www.clinicalpearls.com, $144) In summary, dozens of research articles have indicated the following: 1. Vegetarians have half the incidence as omnivores. (This seems to incriminate meat, egs, milk, with their cholesterol, fat, or maybe the frequency of use.) 2.Women have by far the higher incidence than men. (This seems to indicate a hormone influence.) 3.Since the 1960's a compound named Rowachal available only in Europe is capable of dissoving stones. A substitute for the terpenes involved could be simple enteric coated peppermint, 2 three time a day taken over a year's time. 4.Evidence in group studies indicate a predispoition for gallstones, which suggests a genetic component. (Finding the right nutrient may compensate.) 5. An enzyme reaches its highest activity at midnight in the liver, that helps dissove stones. That enzyme is stimulated by iron. This may explain why menstruating women are more prone. Taurine and Silymarin also help stimulate this enzyme. (Moderator's added note: perhaps he means LESS prone. That is why menopausal and pregnant women have increased incidence of gallstones.) 6 A half cup of crude wheat Bran or equivalent Psyllium can lower the saturation of bile so that stones are prevented. Take for about 3 - 18 months before effects are seen. 7 Fermented soy in small amounts may help prevent or dissove the stones. Tempeh, Natto, or 3 day sprouted soybeans , but not tofu or soy milk or cooked unsprouted beans. 8 A prescription for Ursodeoxycholic Acid, which is UDA unsaturated bile, I believe, will dissove stones, especially taken with terpenes. It increases the pool of bile, so the ratio of bile to cholesterol in solution is increased. This eventually dissolves existing stones Hope that helps. Guest guest
Well, obviously if you have recently experienced gallstone symptoms then you haven't developed or discovered a perfect prevention system, either. You must not have read enough messages here because a lot of them talk about what we need to do to avoid making more gallstones. And I note that a lot of your theories are very open-ended and offer no real solutions. What are your suggestions, that people simply stop being women of menstruating age, or stop being menopausal, or stop having the genetic back-ground they have? Those are not solutions... you are simply bringing up theory and pretending that means that you have answers. Personally, I am going to stick with this group and the CureZone because I have found a lot of answers through them, and they aren't nearly as presumptuous as your post. I sincerely hope that you find a solution for your gallstone problems and that you find or start a group that suits you better than this group obviously does.
