Guest guest
Hey Noella-- It's good to see the other side of things. Thanks for your input. I think I said earlier that my mom had her gb out when she was 20, and never had a problem since (she's 52). I, on the other hand, have been having problems since I had mine out 3 years ago ( I am 31). I have stones in my liver, which I am having removed by ercp on Wednesday. I spent three days in the hospital a couple of weeks ago because I had an attack. I am on the list to gleen some info on preventative treatments, in order to lessen my chances of developing stones again. This battle between mainstream medicine and alternative medicine is just mindboggling, and to tell you the truth--it's hard to know who to completely trust. Seems like you have to choose one side or the other......and I'm just not willing to draw that line. Leah > Craig, > > I added myself to this list when I first started having problems with my gb... Looking for something that could help since I was pregnant... And well i'm not seeking nothing! With all the pain that I was going thru and having a new born baby at home, trying to breast feed while having an attack etc... Like I mentioned I want more children and thiers absolutely no way that I wanna go thru what I went thru... Spending most my time in the hospital cause I couldn't bare the pain! Obvisouly if doctors are taking them out, they must know what their doing... It's one of the most common surgerys... and if so many doctors are doing it... must be something right about getting it done! And since I haven't had any " side effect " problems yet... (knock On Wood) other than a lil pain from time to time... I need all the good health I can get to care of my son! and if everyone wants me off this list so bad just let me know and i'll leave! > > Noella
Guest guest
Dear Ronna, >>>I am wondering, Craig, if your gallbladder attacks are as painful as Noella describes. For me, they are a close second to child-birth - and during that experience I wished someone would shoot me -literally (sorry to any pregnant members out there!) If I had attacks as painful and as frequent as Noella's I think I would happily go under the surgeons knife<<< Oh My! I didn't realise I had had it so bad. My attacks were certainly way, way worse than childbirth and lasted for many, many times longer than my labours too! And so were my SIL's. I also exclusively breastfed a new baby through my illness, my first week alone in hospital I lost 22lbs, by the time I started to get well again I was over 35lbs lighter than when I had conceived. It was a great weight loss plan but not one I care to repeat ;o) BUT, we are not here to compare how bad we had it. we are here to help each other to heal ourselves so it never happens to us again. If one chooses to have their gb out that is their perogative. I've seen the devastation caused by that op and do not choose that path for myself. I would far rather clean and heal my body and live a full and happy life with all the parts that I was born with. After all they must have been put there for a reason. From my research I believe I know their reason and I'm going to fight to keep them all. Mama.
