I am slowly moving towards the approach recommended by

Gallstones site. Has anyone here tried this regimen? If so, how

did it go?

This site goes into wonderful detail about the 5 Element

rationale for the condition, both from the viewpoint of the liver and

the gb. Of course, you really can't have a sick gb without first

having a problem in the liver. The Chinese are all over the liver

seeing it as the master organ and the root of many chronic

health problems.

Specifically, I am curious to see if anyone has treated

themselves with the products she recommends and sells?

Obviously, many have a Western corollary as well. I've listed

below the products that seem to be the most interesting and

most applicable for us:

1) CHINESE GENTIAN & BUPLEURUM ( " CHINESE BITTERS " ) --

Used for a month before a cleansing to decongest the liver and

to increase the energy flow through it.

2) COPTIS-- To stimulate bile flow. Good if the gb has been

taken out.

3) GOLD COIN GRASS--To " soften and crush " the stones prior to

a cleansing. Also used with CORN SILK for kidney stone

disolution.

4) CURCUMA--- Used with GCG to increase the energy flow

through the liver and gb.

If you haven't seen the site, do go there and add it to your library. I

have found advice there that I've never seen elsewhere. Her

dietary advice is also slightly different than the Western approach

so I am curious if anyone here has tried it.

She does a good job of fielding all the variations, fears and

complications that could occur with a flush, and gives clear

advice as to how to get back on track again. Women with uterine

conditions such as fibroids or endometriosis will be intrigued

how she combines therapy for these conditions as well.

Thanks,

Will in Minneapolis

Will;

is a member of this group and has been since it was GroupOne, long before

it was the group. She is still a member today. I called and talked with

back in 1999 when I was first dealing with the problem of whether to do a

flush or get my gallbladder cut out. I also got two bottles of the Gold Coin

Grass and started taking that to reduce the size of the stone it was reported I

had. I was only told I had a large single stone and that my gallbladder was

thickened and in danger of bursting. It was also explained to me that it

probably had not been working properly for the last ten years.

Generally speaking the process of therapies for most all of them have to do with

helping the liver do its job more efficiently. Just the process of clearing the

bowels is doing something for the liver. So, enemas, colemas, or colonics do a

lot for the liver and therefore the gallbladder and pancreas too.

Personally I took on a number of regiments to determine what I would be doing.

It really boiled down to simply avoiding all fats, taking the gold coin grass,

and then doing the flushes.

The only really bad mistake I made was to avoid all forms of fats for a bit over

a month form August of 99 to October when I had my last and worst attack to

date, which it turns out was a liver and not gallbladder attack because it was

being damaged from my avoiding essential fats. The ultra sound done at the

hospital showed my gallbladder was no longer thickened and that my liver looked

good excepting the enlarged bile ducts, which I assumed had occurred from the

flushing of the stones, and that there were no stones to be found anywhere.

Today I still watch what I eat and try to eat for my liver. In fact, I just

yesterday I was nibbling all day on olives that I get as a mixed variety. They

are good for fiber and taste pretty darn good too especially the ones that I get

stuffed with garlic, blue cheese, apricot or some other off the wall designer

olive mix. (started me chuckling to think of this, designer olives. Oh, how

preppy we are in this group)

Will:

You might be interested to know that one of our acupuncture specialists here

(treats people, dogs and fancy horses) uses the sensiblehealth products. I was

there with my dog and whining about my gallbaldder (maybe the wrong one of us

was being treated). She said she lost her GB as a result of a bad

pancreatitis attack but she used 's herbs regularly to keep everything in

good

shape in her system and she periodically flushed. It sounded like this had taken

place a number of years ago and she was a long time fan of and sensible

health. The acupuncturist is from Colorado and now is in Georgia, neither

handy to Toronto so it sounds like these products have a good reputation beyond

their local trade area.
