Hey Ronna,

>>>still haven't done a major flush, but hope that when I do, they will be

more self-evident.<<<

I'm a night owl, too...though, I must admit, you beat me BIG TIME at still

being up at 5am! ;)) LOL

I've only done the one 'major' flush, but with the little experience that I

have, I can attest that the stones are definitely more evident the morning

after the flush. You just can't miss them. After doing a colon cleanse (very

gently and easily with Oxy-powder for 4 days beforehand), fasting and then using

the Epsom salts on the day of the flush, there is absolutely nothing left to

pass the morning after, but stones, and they are clearly visible. LOL

While I hope to avoid prostheltyzing, because each person's experience is

always so unique, I will say that my first flush experience was not nearly as

bad

as I had feared or imagined. Up to a few weeks ago, I had been having attacks

every few days (starting slowly last Nov and coming every few weeks, but

eventually coming every few days), with some lasting a good part of the day.

While

I managed to go into denial the first few months, they were becoming

debilitating to the extent that I didn't want to make any firm plans to go out

and do

anything in case I had an attack. The attacks began with bloating, so I knew

one was coming. Then, they would evolve into waves of pain and tenderness that

began under the right rib cage. This pain then progressed to a radiating,

searing wavelike pain, to my mid-back (between the shoulder blades), sometimes

with a strange feeling in the esophagus and into the neck. To begin with, they

came at night, an hour or so after eating, but they finally started coming at

totally unpredictable times, too. So, this is what made my mind up to do the

flush, even with the little information I had, at that point, but with great

support and encouragement from the folk here. Anything was better than that pain

and I was willing to try anything that would allow me to keep my gb and to

stop limiting my life like that. So, I'm so happy to report that it's been 3

weeks and I've had no attacks since I did my first flush and my intention is to

keep doing them at monthly intervals. :))

Other benefits I've noted since doing just the one flush is that I've been

feeling so much more energized, needing less sleep, and have actually started

losing some weight. I had thought my metabolism had completely stopped

altogether for the past several years. I'm not a big eater and no matter what I

did to

cut back, or exercise, I just couldn't shift the weight (about 25 pounds

overweight).

The other incredible benefit, which I can only attribute to my first flush

(my apologies to the men here - just cover your eyes for this bit!) is that I am

going through perimenopause and the water retention, half-headed migraines,

and other pms symptoms have been almost unbearable for the past 8 years, or so.

This month I have had none of that and just can't stop thanking my lucky

stars. It makes complete sense to me, now, though, that if the liver (our body's

garbage disposal) is not in tip-top shape, nothing is being broken down and

dispensed with properly....including the ol' hormones. For middle-aged women who

generally tend to be estrogen dominant, the liver just can't break these

hormones down and they must just float around in our bodies wreaking havoc.

I fit the profile of the four Fs to a 'T'....I'm 44, have been fertile and

preggers in my time (LOL), have been up and down with weight, gaining tremendous

amounts with pregnancies, and am fair-skinned and fair-haired....and am

genetically predisposed with both my mother and sister having gb stones. The

weight

I have gained these past few years, though, has been of the gradual kind. I'm

fairly tall, so it goes unnoticed till I see myself in a photo! A reiki

master, I'm also conscious that I have always held any stress in my solar plexus

(the will/power center). So, I'm not surprised to have manifested dis-ease in

this part of my body.

Btw, in my time I have also had a passion for Cadburys choc (especially those

cream-filled eggs they put out at Easter!). Yum! Something's changed

though....since doing the flush and detoxing, I've found all those old cravings

for

the bad fats and sugars have faded. Somehow my body is teaching me the road to

healthy eating. Mind you, there is also something about intense pain that

makes one definitely wake up!!! Whereas before I never would have looked at the

contents of anything I was eating, I'm becoming more conscious of all that,

now. I've never taken supplements or medications of any kind, but on the advice

of the good folk here and listening to all the experiences, I now take a daily

dose of flaxseed oil, milk thistle, lecithin, as well as a few other vits and

minerals.

As you wisely say, Ronna, it's a gradual process of learning healthy eating

habits and what is good and bad fat and it's important to just be easy on

yourself and not to judge yourself so harshly. In a way, it's like truly

learning

how to love yourself, body and all. Too much of my life, I have lived 'in my

head' and forgotten I have a body, this vehicle that allows me blessed life that

must be nurtured, as well. It's just a gradual process of learning what is

most beneficial and our individual paths to this learning will be totally

unique.

It's just so great to have this open discussion forum. I'm learning so much

from everyone here....I just can't thank you all enough!

In peace and with gratitude, n

> Hi n,

Your message was wonderfully written and very inspiring. I feel quite

determined now to go through with a flush - no more procrastinating!

Re food issues, after my last really bad gb attack, my body was telling

me loudly and clearly that I needed to eat differently. Since then I

have had pain, but no major attacks, so [one part of] my brain is

telling me everything is cool and I can eat the way I want. The other,

more logical, part of my brain is telling me that it's only a matter of

time before another attack.

Very interesting what you mentioned about hormones - I am 38 and feel

as if my hormones have been starting to shift (pregnancies &

breastfeeding long past). Maybe the beginning of my gb trouble is not

just random. If gb problems are more common in pregnancy, then it

would make sense that approaching menopause (LONG approach most likely,

given my genes) would contribute.

I'm trying not to be too hard on myself or let myself get too

overwhelmed. Baby steps. I am regularly taking the supplements

recommended - same ones that you mentioned - and I feel as if

participating in this group has been a huge step towards acknowledging

and beginning to accept the changes I need to make.

BTW, I was up last night until 2am Pacific Time - not quite as bad as 5

am, but still WAY too late when having to work the next day!

Thanks again for your words of encouragement,

Ronna

Hiya Ronna!

Thanks for your email and apologies for late reply.

>>>I feel quite determined now to go through with a flush - no more

procrastinating!<<<

You go, girl! Will look forward to hearing how it all goes for you. I know I

was also encouraged by the Curezone statistic that said that 99% of flushees

don't have pain or difficulty with the flush procedure....something like

that.... The worst part for me was really the effects of the epsom salts and

running to the bathroom on flush day, but I felt this was really important for

relaxing and opening the ducts (in case I got a stone stuck), so I just went for

it. Even drinking the oil and lemon was easy with a straw. The morning after was

fine and I just drank a ton of water as I felt a bit dehydrated and ate

carefully. If you're unsure of the epsom salts part, you can try a dose when you

next experience any gb pain (and you know you are going to be home for a few

hours)...1 tbsp with a cup of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, just to see how

your body reacts to the one dose....of course, that's if you haven't tried

that yet. Gave me great relief from an attack within about 20 mins. I think

someone said that if you suffer from acid reflux or a stomach ulcer, though,

that

you may have to try something a little less astringent.

>>>Re food issues, after my last really bad gb attack, my body was telling

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's easy to get lulled into that false sense of

security in-between times. Alas, it's true that once we start manufacturing

gall stones, we continue to do so. Although, it may also be true that once we

pass a stone or two, it is also possible for things to settle down for the rest

of our lives....anything is possible and we're all so different. My Mum has a

stone the size of a golf ball and has never had pain that she's complained of.

From what I've gathered, it's those little blighters that create the

probs....so those are probably the ones we're aiming at flushing.

Absolutely! Many women are experiencing premature menopause today (beginning

in their mid 30s and sometimes even earlier), likely a result of all the

hormones that are being pumped into store bought meats. Estrogen dominance (or

estrone?), which begins in many women during the latter part of their 30s, is a

known contributing factor for gall stone production, which is also probably why

women are statistically more prone to gb disease. I'm not entirely sure how

the hormones affect this during pregnancy, but this is definitely a

contributing factor during peri-menopause and those 40-something years.

Me, too, Ronna. I'm so happy to have had this chance to chat with you. If

you, or anyone here, discovers anything more on the hormone connection to gb

stones, I'd be very interested to hear what you find. Perhaps the gb stone

formation in women would be greatly eased by finding ways to balance hormones

naturally during this particular life transition. I've heard that flaxseed oil

is a

good one for assisting hormone balance, as well as Evening Primrose oil?

>>>BTW, I was up last night until 2am Pacific Time - not quite as bad as 5

Oh yeah...that's why, then! I'm in the Eastern time zone and my email had

you coming in at 5am...I think you're 3 hours behind us.

Many blessings and good luck with your first flush!!! I'll be keeping you in

my thoughts and sending energy your way.

>n,

Thanks again for the kind words of encouragement. I started on Monday

taking a teaspoon of epsom salts with grapefruit juice in the evening to

start a slow process of opening up ducts and cleaning out the colon. By

the weekend I feel I'll be ready for the flush (I've coined it in my mind

as " F-day " !!)

On a light note, my kids (ages 7 & 10) are aware of my " duck problem "

and now will ask me with practically everything I eat whether my " ducks

will like that? " or will occasionally ask if " my ducks are happy at the

moment? "

Take care & have a great day.

Hehe...good one! My name for it wasn't quite so colorful, calling it my

" Royal Flush Day " . I think I like yours better. ;))

Awww...that's really cute, Ronna. Thanks for sharing that smile. I was only

thinking this week about all the garbage my teenager eats and how my new

dietary habits are being resisted by my kids, making mealtimes more challenging

to

manage. Hubby is incredibly supportive, but this must be the most difficult

part...asking everyone in the family to eat what I prepare for myself. Almost

seems unfair, in a way, to expect them to make any sudden changes. Although I

know it's a much healthier, conscious and loving thing to nurture them with all

the good foods. It's just a bit of an adjustment period for them, I reckon, now

that all the junky stuff is no longer sitting in the pantry.

All the best for F-day and will wait to hear how it all goes for you.

Blessings, n
