Guest guest
Well, Edie I ate me a whole lotta apple product today......3 apples and 3 glasses of apple cider (which is the closest thing I could get to organic apple juice right now--it's pulpy, and probably better than canned apple juice). I will probably be sick of apples by the end of the week, but I think I'm going to start to practice " an apple a day.... " when this flush is over with. You know, it really gets me thinking--it's been a really long time since I've eaten an apple! I mean, I make sure the kids and hubby get one in their lunches every day--but me?? NO. If anything, I am becoming more aware of unhealthy habits I was not aware of earlier (such as no fresh fruit in my diet!) Can't wait to see what develops! As far as my doctor told me, there is no way for me to prevent further attacks in my bile duct. Hopefully, I prove him wrong! He didn't have to say it but when I asked him how he felt about the cleanses and diet I was doing, the fact that I was free of all stones and that my gallbladder now looked healthy, not thickened and diseased, he said to me and My wife, " you can't argue with success " . Guest guest
Hi all-- I am still working on the flush, but have been having a lot of problems (since before the flush) with digesting food and 'voiding.' It feel like all the food is tucked just under my ribcage, and is not going anywhere. Apart from exlax, I have trouble going to the bathroom regularly--sometimes not in one, two, even three days. I have been taking milk thistle, and digestive enzymes. Maybe my stomach is inflamed?? During ercp, the doc was concerned about how he noticed that my stomach was inflamed, but I forgot to ask him about it later. I don't know what's going on, but all these symptoms are what led to my last big attack that landed me in the hospital for three days a month ago. I had stones in my bile duct. Maybe I'm forming more?? I am in a lot of discomfort (and constant slight pain) down my right side, middle back, and just under my ribcage. When will this ever end? (okay, I know you can't answer that one......I'm so frustrated I could scream!) Guest guest
Leah: I know you are upset. Could you modify your diet a little to make it easier to digest? Grate the apples, chop up things smaller? I know is REALLY easy to say and very hard to do, but try not to stress. That is making matters worse for your liver and GB. Think in terms of what you WANT, not what you do NOT WANT. Sometimes I have to go around chanting... " I choose faith, not fear... " over and over until I calm down. You are not doomed to a life of stones. Unfortunately your liver is in the habit of making stones. It just needs a new habit. Think about how you would gently, gently, gently change your children's habits and apply those ideas to your liver and treat it like its a loved child. Can't hurt you, and surely it might help. I will resend my " pooping " email to you.

Maybe I'm forming more?? Leah, I have so many of the same symptoms you describe, but have been able to get the " voiding " problem taken care of by increasing the amount of vegies and fiber in my diet. Sometimes that isn't enough, though, as I also have spastic colon, which they also call IBS symptoms, this is when the natural motion of the muscles in the colon gets out of sync, and parts spasm when they should be moving along, or they move things along too quickly, in laymen's terms. I have been using a digestive enzyme to help digest my foods, and also an herbal combination as needed to " get things moving " . Things like this are available in health food stores, or you may contact me privately if you like, as I do sell and don't want to clutter list with ads. But those are a few thoughts. My symptoms are very similar to yours. I do have gallbladder trouble too, but if you are constipated, and have trapped gas, it can cause similar discomfort on that side that is not related to gallbladder at all. I am in a lot of discomfort (and constant slight pain) down my right side, middle back, and just under my ribcage.<<< Hi Leah, It sounds like you could possibly have an infection that may have gotten into your liver or pancreas (indicated by pain in the middle of your back - if it becomes very intense and starts shooting up your spine you need to see your specialist IMMEDIATELY). I know this is a possible complication of ERCP as it was something I was aware of before my ERCP which is why I insisted that they did not snip my bile duct (which, despite not finding anything in my bile duct, the specialist did anyway! GRRRR) Or you may have passed another liver stone? Initially finding something to settle the inflamation in your stomach may be the thing to do. Are you still eating a very bland easily digested diet? Maybe the digestive enzymes are causing problems? Do you have a good Naturopath? Did you do a flush since your ERCP last wednesday? Gosh it took me months to recover from mine! Hope you're feeling better soon ) Blessings Mama.
Guest guest
Mama, I was tested for pancreatitis just a few days after my ercp. I was in so much pain after the procedure that the doctor had me come and see him and have the bloodwork done to check it out. Everything came back awesome, so I was discharged from his care and sent on my way. It took about two weeks to get over the effects of the ercp--and he didn't tell me that this would happen. If I worked outside of the home, I would have had to have taken a lot of time off! It was very upsetting to be in that much pain. Anyhow, maybe I should make an appt. with the family doc tomorrow?? Could be serious?? This is brutal. I am trying the seven day flush. Last night was my first drink of water, olive oil and grapefruit juice, and I was soooooo nauseated that I was up for hours. I felt pukey sick all night. And this afternoon, I was hit with the same feeling again, briefly, for about half an hour, then it went away. Maybe I should put off the flush for now? Maybe I should put away the milk thistle and digestive enzymes for now? I have been taking these things under no direction--maybe that's not a good thing..... I am so frustrated and confused......and hurting. My stomach does indeed feel swollen. I want to take charge and responsibility for my health, but I keep hitting brick walls. Thanks for writing back to me. LEah
Guest guest
Hi. Yep I found out that these symptoms aren't related at all to liver/pancreas troubles. I went to the hospital last night and had blood work done. All is good! So what's wrong with my upper stomach is beyond me, but I feel better knowing that it's nothing 'serious.' The doc said maybe an ulcer? She said to ask family doc for an upper gi (the only test I haven't had yet!). Leah My symptoms > are very similar to yours.
