Are some > types of apple juice less so than others? > Ronna Perhaps related to the pectin, but taking apples and apple juice in the quantity you do to prepare for a liver/gallbladder cleanse stimulates the flow of bile, which has a laxative effect. Sometimes it takes a couple days into drinking/eating the juice/apples for the bowels to become " looser " and more frequent, that's been my experience. As has been said before, it is the malic acid in the apples that has the affect you desire in a liver/gallbladder cleanse. L.
