Perhaps related to the pectin, but taking apples and apple

juice in the quantity you do to prepare for a liver/gallbladder

cleanse stimulates the flow of bile, which has a laxative effect.

Sometimes it takes a couple days into drinking/eating the

juice/apples for the bowels to become " looser "

and more frequent, that's been my experience. As has

been said before, it is the malic acid in the apples that

has the affect you desire in a liver/gallbladder cleanse.
