ANNE UK Hi Anne, On 17th May, I sent out an email called, " The Sinister Truth Behind Operation Cure-All " , by Ruth , which seems to be along the same lines as your article. I tend not to believe all I read these days in the media, because so much is distorted. However, this news article seemed worth a little investigation and I wondered if anyone else had heard this news? So, I was very interested to read your article, which seems to back up the one I found. What the " Operation Cure-All " article stated was that it appears that there is an international, world-wide push to have every country remove supplements from their shelves. Also, that this push is being instigated by the strong arm of powerful pharmaceutical companies (in concert with greedy govts) who want the lion's share of profits from the manufacture of things as harmless as daily vitamins (better not mean my epsom salts!). My own feeling about this, is that if this is so, then it's likely a result of people, everywhere, waking up to taking their health in their own hands (not to mention those who cannot afford health insurance), in combination with a growing lack of patient trust. All this is having far-reaching effects on the powers that be - in a nutshell, the pharmaceutical companies! Basically, while we all wake up to taking self-responsibility for our health and well-being, this is scaring those motivated by profit alone. The group had a conversation along these lines most recently regarding cholesterol drugs. One has to wonder at the repercussions of such a move. Will supplements go underground, as tends to happen in any prohibitive society? Would free societies actually stand for this nonsense? As in what happened in Australia, these actions tend to be insidious and unnoticeable to the majority (until they go to the shops to look for a supplement they can no longer buy), so it's something of which to be aware, anyway. You can let your voice be heard, I believe, by going to the sites mentioned on the email I sent, if this is something anyone feels very strongly about. As I say, I don't really know much about all this, myself, and just found it to be a little disturbing. If anyone has any further insight on this, then I'd sure like to hear it. Blessings, n
