Guest guest
Hello Everyone, A week or so ago, I sent a post in to the group talking about the importance of taking digestive enzyme and proteolytic enzyme supplements. A month or so before that, I sent in a post to the list talking about the importance of having a healthy population of the beneficial micro-organisms in our GI Tract. There's an online book that you can read (for free) that discusses both of these topics, and many other topics that are of interest to those of you who are interested in a healthy-functioning liver. The book can be found at: http://www.jonbarron.org/ The book is entitled " Lessons From the Miracle Doctors. " If anyone is interested in why they continue to have to do liver cleanse after liver cleanse, and are still producing stones numbering in the thousands, this online book is a good place to start. There is a reason why our livers are so clogged with stones, sludge, etc. That reason must be found and addressed, otherwise it's like having to put oil into a leaky engine - every 50 or so miles, you've got to stop and put in a new quart of oil. It would be better to find the leak and plug it. There is another good website (on enzymes) that is hosted by the author ( DeFelice) of the book " Enzymes for Autism and Other Neurological Disorders " : http://www.enzymestuff.com/ Of particular interest to me, and which might be to some others of you, is the article written on No-Fenol. This is about an enzyme supplement that helps those who have problems with foods that have phenols in them, such as most fruits and vegetables have in them. The body needs phenolic compounds to be healthy, but if you're not breaking them down correctly from the food that you eat, they can turn into a food intolerance/allergy nightmare. There is some really good information out there - legit information, and it's free. Then there's books on enzymes that you can purchase. 's is a good one, and is full of information that is of benefit to all people, not just the ones with neurological problems. Dr. Howell is the author of a couple of them as well. Both of his books are good ones, but you can get by with purchasing the latest one that he wrote: " Food Enzymes for Health & Longevity. " Here's an interesting tidbit from page 20 of the book: " ...Also we know that decreased enzyme levels are found in a number of chronic ailments, such as allergies, skin disease, and even serious diseases such as diabetes and cancer. In addition, incriminating evidence indicates that cooked, enzyme-free diets contribute to a pathological over-enlargement of the pituitary gland, which regulates the other glands. Furthermore, there is documented research showing that almost 100% of the people over 50, dying from accidental causes [so autopsies were done], were found to have defective pituitary glands. ....Incidentally, another effect associated with food enzyme deficiency is that the size of the brain decreases. In addition, the thyroid over-enlarges, even in the presence of adequate iodine. This has been shown in a number of species. Of course, you can't prove it on human beings. The evidence, however, is very suggestive. " .... On a personal note, I simply cannot believe the benefit that I have personally experienced from using digestive enzymes when I eat, and proteolytic enzymes inbetween meals (which the body will use to clean the blood and rid the body of pathological tissues (including internal scar tissue), parasites, viruses, cancer cells, etc. But go and learn about these things for yourselves. The two websites that I listed above are a good place to start. Learn what's what and how to use it. Trust me, if you think you're toxic you'll want to go slow. Those proteolytic enzymes are incredible detoxifiers, and you can go too fast and make yourself feel just awful. Ask me how I know. There's more to say, but it's late, and I'm tired. Good luck to you all. Carol Lively

All sounds very interesting. Blessings, n
