Guest guest
Here is a bit of the a summary of this book Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type by J.D'Adamo There are 4 blood types, 4 diets- As the human race moved around in the past, in each new habitat, changes occurred which allowed them to adapt, thus the differences in blood types. The ascent of humans to the top of the food chain brought the evolution of type O. The change from hunter/gatherer to a more domesticated agrarian lyfestyle brought type A. The merging of races to Europe and the Americas brought type B. The intermingling of different groups brought type AB. To determine if substances are foreign or not, we have chemical markers on our cells called antigens. Each blood type posesses different antigens on their cells. A has A antigens, B has B, AB has both A and B, and O has none. This is why it is the universal donor. Type O blood cannot accept any blood but O, however, it can be given to everyone. Antigens create antibodies. These antibodies to certain foods and allergens are why people have so much trouble. A food which may be harmful to one blood type may be beneficial to another type. A chemical reaction occurs between your blood and the food you eat. You still maintain a favoritism for the foods your ancestors ate. O is for old, oldest type. Type O's have more stomach acid than other types. This helped in the digestion of meat. Type O's " The hunters " need lots of exercise if possible. Type O's do well on diets including lean chemical-free meats, poultry, and fish. Your digestive system has not yet adapted to milk products that well. Grains are not necessary for you. Type O's gain weight by eating gluten found in wheat products. These glutens are not good for you, interfering with the efficient use of calories for energy by inhibiting insulin metabolism. Type O's do NOT TOLERATE WHEAT WELL at all. So pay special attention when eating grains and pastas. Try sprouted breads or rice pasta. Don't eat too many legumes and beans (they aren't utilized very well). type O's blood needs to be slightly acidic. Good foods: lean beef, lamb, turkey, chicken, fish, no more than 6 ounces at a meal. Balance the meat with veggies and fruit to avoid over acidification. Coldwater fish are excellent for you. Fish oil is good for you. (Fish oil is said to be good for inflammatory conditions- don't take with anything that thins blood though.) Type O's should restrict dairy products. Try soy milk. Olive oil and flax seed oils are great. Nuts and seeds are great. A lot of veggies are good for you, some are better than others. Brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, and mustard greens can inhibit the thyroid. Leafy greens are excellent for you. Alfalfa sprouts can irritate intestines. The molds in domestic and shitake mushrooms as well as fermented olives can cause allergies. The nightshade vegetables like eggplant, potatoes, cause arthritic conditions in type O. Corn can lead to diabetes. All type O's should avoid corn. Tomatoes are neutral in type O's system. Many fruits are available to type O. If you eat a piece of fruit rather than a piece of bread your system will be served much better. Most melons contain mold, only eaten a little, and honeydew and cantelope avoided completely. Oranges, tangerines and strawberries should be avoided because of high acid. Grapefruits, however, are okay because they change to alkaline in the system. Most berries are okay, except blackberries. Type O's are extremely sensitive to coconut. Vegetable juices are better than fruit because your stomach is more acidic. Avoid high sugar juices. Pineapple juice is good for you. Black cherry is great for you. Spices can be good for you. KELP based seasonings are good for your thyroid. Some iodized salt is okay, but not too much. Parsley is soothing to your digestive tract. Cayenne pepper is good for you. Sugar and chocolate are occassionally okay. Avoid corn syrup as a sweetener. Condiments are really not good for you. All pickled foods are indigestible for type O's. Replace condiments with olive oil, lemon juice, or garlic. Beverages are limited to type O's. Water, seltzer, club soda, and tea are okay. A little beer is okay. Wine is allowed. Coffee increases stomach acid and as I said, type O's already have an excess of acid. They are prone to stomach ulcers because of this. In many ways, type A is opposite type O. Type O's burn meat as fuel. Type A's store it as fat. A is for Agrarian. Type A's do not have enough stomach acid to eat a lot of meat. It is found in it's highest concentration in Western Europeans. Low stomach acid from an agrarian lyfestyle. Milk products cannot be digested by type A's. Don't eat too much wheat or your muscle tissues will become too acidic. Wheat is alkaline in type O's and acidic in A's. Type A's need to balance grains with veggies. Eliminate ALL meats from your diet. B is for balance. First appearing in Asia, one B group was agrarian. The other B group was nomadic, meat eating. AB is for modern. Rare. Emerging from A and B. Newest of the blood types. Until ten or twelve centuries ago there was no AB blood.
