> There must be FIFTEEN WAYS TO LOVE YOUR LIVER

WITH MY *******COMMENTS ON THEM....

>

> 1. Put the six-pack back, Jack

***True for alcohol in excess, but they fail to mention the liver and GB

benefits

of a bit of alcohol, especially red wine, when taken every day. It's helped me.

> 2. Avoid the virus, Iris

****True

> 3. Take a lot more " C, " Lee

****True, and good research citations on this. Do you know that my

Gastroenterologists (when I was near death with pancreatitis and inflammed

GB in the hospital) REFUSED to give me Vits C, B or E? The Bastards. I'll

never forgive the medical profession for that.

> 4. Don't trust in a shot, Dot

*****TRUE, rarely stated by doctors, and good advice.

> 5. Take vitamin B, Dee

*****Too bad I couldn' t get it in the hospital. They fail to mention the

natural

food sources of B vitamins, the very best way to take it in.

> 6. Eat veggies and greens, Gene

*****TRUE and great advice.

> 7. Eat your food raw, Paw

> Or at least as much of it as you can.

*****Well, that's sort of true, but we can't digest many things raw. I think

it's a

bit dangerous to throw this out without clarification.

> 8. Get off the drugs, Doug

****TRUE and good advice.

> 9. Eat less fat, Matt

*****I know this is controversial even here on this site, but I think this is

DEAD

WRONG. Ever hear of an Eskimo getting gall stones? It doesn't happen and

their diet is almost pure fat. The Weston A. Price can document LOW fat

diets CAUSING gallstones (the body reverts to conservation of cholesterol).

They really need to discuss trans fats, and the different types of fat if they

are

going there. People are starving their brains and bodies for essential fatty

acids as well as the fat soluble vitamins A,D,E, F, and K as well.

>Fatty liver is the most common response of the liver to

******I don't think this is true about fatty liver with chronic alcoholism.

> 10. Use safe sex, Tex

If you are not in a monogamous relationship, you are at increased

> risk for hepatitis.

*******REALLY? Even if you are a celibate monk?

>

> 11. Wash your hands, Stan

*******I won't argue this one.

>12) Eat less cholesterol or something like that.. (I accidentally erased the

original 12th title, Aphrodital)... but, they go on to say....

> Now here's an obvious argument for vegetarian diet, as only animal

> foods contain cholesterol, and cholesterol forms gallstones. Some

> people manufacture excessive cholesterol, and this can be

> controlled through intelligent use of therapeutic vegetable juice

> fasting and large doses of vitamin C, both of which significantly

> reduce cholesterol production.

****This is TOTAL BOLOGNA. No evidence whatsoever. There are NO

indigenous vegetarian peoples in the history of the planet either. FAT is rare

and precious GOLD in nature. Gallstones exist in nature, but are really a

disease of modern city slickers (or farmers or indians that eat like one). The

liver manufactures all the cholesterol that circulates and it makes it NOT from

fat, ever, but from CARBOHYDRATES. I'd think the medical community would

someday grasp this one. Of course, they couldn't sell all the statins then...

> 13. Spare the bile,

> About 33 ml of bile is stored in the average gallbladder. Many

> animals (rats, for instance) do not even have one.

*****WHAT? Rats always get the bad rap! Of course, like all the other

rodents, they have a GB, like ours only tiny, most everything does except the

horse. Plus, we don't want to " spare the bile " , that would mean it's stagnating.

We want to MOVE the bile.

> Ugh. Low-fat meals probably help prevent

> future gallbladder problems.

****TOTAL SPECULATION This is bad form to speculate on such a huge

issue!!!

>

> 14. Eat lecithin, Tim

******Here they fail to mention that the best lecithin is from FOOD, especially

egg yolks. The junk in the store is now extracted from soybeans (80% of them

are GMO beans too) and ain't necessarily a health food.

> 15. Be sure to read, Steed

******NO ARGUMENT THERE!!

Well, that's my report anyway. Hope I didn't step on too many toes.
