Guest guest
<<.....I'll try not to puke up the oil this time ...> I did flush #30 three days ago. At this stage I do them maybe every three or four months and generally do a couple of weeks of double milk thistle prep and two days of no fat prior to the flush. This time however, everything was right so I " just did it " with no prep and even had sour cream the day before which is generally a big no no for me. Where I'm at now I do the 1/4 cup of olive oil with the juice of 1/2 of a lemon every half hour until I've consumed 2 cups of oil. That has caused me to be somewhat nauseous in the past when I have used extra virgin olive oil so this time I got some Montolivo extra light olive oil instead. I know that most recipes say to use the virgin, but I knew that my stomach wouldn't like it. Anyway, I did get down 1 3/4 cup of oil plus juice before my stomach said STOP. My results weren't great except, I got out about 30 of the largest (much bigger than largest lima beans) dark green highly irregularly shaped stones that I've ever passed along with a couple of hundred others, plus small amounts of sludge. With the large stones which I know are very old and from a ways inside my liver, I consider the flush a success and will continue to do them every 3 or 4 months, though will probably prep much better the next time. The extra light olive oil was much, much easier to deal with than the extra virgin and I will use nothing else for my other flushes. I also had almost zero after effects even though I took both (ugh) salts doses in the morning. I was not the least bit nauseous during the night or the next morning. As far as feelings are concerned, it was one of my very best flushes. I've mentioned before that I use the Swan brand Epsom salts which I believe are milder than the standard brands of salts and I also make sure that it is ice cold. I get mine at Costco. Will keep on flushing and am glad I switched to the extra light! Jay

I take it every 15 minutes. Actually, it SEEMS like every 2 minutes. Jay
Guest guest
Jay, I may give the light oil a try, though I'm definitely going to go with grapefruit juice instead of lemon this time. The lemon burned my throat and really didn't help me get it down. I have just Rite- Aid brand epsoms (almost bought the kind they carry at WholeFoods, then decided it was a ripoff. salts can't ever be organic.) but I mix them with a packet of strawberry Emergen-C before drinking. And yes, having them ice cold and through a straw is of utmost importance. I am considering doing a monthly or even biweekly flush for a little while with hopes that I can push all those little green demons out of my body hugs, elisa > <<.....I'll try not to puke up the oil this time ...> > > > I did flush #30 three days ago. The lemon burned my throat and really didn't help me get it down.>> I now generally use half lemon juice and half grapefruit juice but I think that all grapefruit works very well. Mentioned on the list many months ago that I did an " accidental " flush after a high fat pork dinner with frozen/reconstituted orange juice afterwards. I believe that just citrus juice will work fine. I have a book checked out of the library " The Fasting Diet " by ND which has a pre-fasting liver cleanse which is simply a slow, easier (in my opinion) gallbladder flush. It is: First thing in the morning: 3 tablespoons of good quality olive oil (1 1/2 if you have chronic liver problems or if your gall bladder has been removed) 1 to 2 cloves of fresh organic garlic diced or pressed juice of 1 lemon juice of 1 orange Combine and drink. Follow that in one half an hour with a fiber supplement of 1 teaspoon of psyllium powder, water, and a 'gentle' (unnamed) laxative and 1 to 2 8 ounce glasses of water. Then food a half an hour after that. In fact, he suggests this oil/fiber routine as a pre-lunch and pre-dinner ingestion too. He suggests this as a 5 day routine prior to a fast. I think that's too much, but believe that the morning routine for a week would work fine as an easier alternative to the Epsom salts one-shot routine. I myself often use a clove of garlic with the oil that I drink. Jay
