Guest guest
n, I left " Eat Right for your Type " off my Top 10 List mainly for the reason you suggest. I think it is oversimplifed. In an attempt to round off square pegs and make the book much more popular and palatable, he has let some people fall through large cracks. The Weston A.Price Foundation magazine panned it for that and several other reasons as well. As it turns out, the author D'Adamo's father D'Adamo was also an ND and pioneered the theory of blood types causing dfferences that explain why one diet works does not for everyone. He did not use the ABO system but devised his own system based on his own selection criterion. From what I've heard it was very accurate with 20-30 types and would not have recommended meat eating to people like you who don't naturally like it. It was a better system, just not one that you can turn into a best selling book. On the other hand, this book does have very good information it it about fats, carbs, proteins and other nutrients, I would suggest reading it as yet another source of good nutritional information but listen to your body as the best teacher of all. Guest guest
Hi n, One thing that the book says is that even though generalities can easily be made about the blood types, we are still individuals and we need to listen to our own bodies to determine the right proportions of each type of food. I wouldn't force myself to eat more meat than you feel is appropriate for you, and the book says the same thing. We are a product of a lot of genes in our modern society, so who knows if you lean toward characteristics of other blood types or not? My experience has been that I do well on lots of animal proteins. I've tried it both ways: with and without.
