Guest guest
Amy, So your baby has a longer thiner head, but his sutures are open. How old is he? Was he premature? Do you know what his cephalic index (width behind ears divided by length of head) is? What type of head shape did the rest of the children and you guys have? (All the questions I was asked :-) ) Joanne -----Original Message-----From: mattmcamy@... Guest guest
Hi Trish....Congrads on the birth of your son Ayden:) Cuties, he looks so tiny...compared to my sons who were both over 9lbs!...How much did he weigh?...Are his eyes ok? I know that sounds stupid, ...Is Caylie the only one in your family to have this?...Our 2nd son is, 1st son doesn't have it...anyways...lovely pix...thanks for sharing, and good luck with the wee man:).... -- blepharophimosis Pictures Hi All,I have finally posted some pictures of our Caylie on the group site. For those of you who do not know us, Caylie is our 2 1/2 year old daughter who is affected by blepharophimosis. She has had only one surgery so far to lift her lids at 1 year. Her surgeon wants to start cosmetic surgery next year or the year after. The pictures were all taken within the last month, and the baby shown with her is her new brother, Ayden, born on December 5th.Take care all,Trish
Guest guest
Hi.... Ayden weighed 6lbs 15 oz at birth, but he is more than making up for it now. He is only 6 weeks old, and is now almost 12 lbs! Yes, his eyes are o.k. Caylie is the only one affected in our family. Of course we worried a little about whether he would be o.k. or not, but the Dr.s told us the chances of him being affected were like one in a million because her case just seemed to appear out of nowhere. And no, of course your question does not sound stupid, that is what we are all here for right?! I will post more pics of Caylie as I get them..... Take Care, Trish blepharophimosis Pictures Hi All,I have finally posted some pictures of our Caylie on the group site. Guest guest
Hey there! I am also searching for Dr.’s in the U.S. that perform the major surgeries. A doctor today mentioned Birmingham as a possible place to look. Does anyone know of any surgeons, plastic or otherwise, that are VERY experienced with BPES? I get a lot of Dr’s that say they “CAN” do it, but I want someone that “DOES” do this. We live in Atlanta, GA and are willing to travel if the right Dr. is around. Any ideas anyone? is only 10 months old so we have awhile. I would just like to have ideas. Thanks to all for the help! blepharophimosis Pictures Posted some pictures of Jordan. She is 6 years old now. She had first surgery in Birmingham, Alabama when she was 15 months old. They did the lift of her lids. The doctor was Dr. Cogen, at Callahan's Eye Foundation hospital. We are searching for a doctor to perform the major operation on her. There is a doctor in Birmingham who does that surgery but not sure if he is the one I want to perform major operation. Would love to chat with others about this. All the pictures are great on here. Thanks a million.
