Guest guest
Hi Velma, Brita filters do not filter chlorine nor do they filter fluoride. They can take the chlorine smell out of the water but it's still there. When I make Kombucha, I boil for 5 minutes the water from the Brita. This way the Brita is taking out the heavy metals, but I'm also getting rid of the chlorine. I have had no problems with my brews and new baby scobies form every batch. Our last batch had such a foamy head on it when poured - it was like drinking beer! So that works for me! Good luck, jen > > > I have a Brita filter on my tap. I know it doesn't filter the Chlorine, and I think they put fluoride in our water too. Don't know if it filters it or not. If I filter some water, and leave it " open " on the counter, would the rest of the unsavory elements evaporate out, and could I use it for brewing? I've been buying water up to this point, but figure if this would work, what's the point. > > Warmly, > > Velma > > >
Guest guest
Hi Bee, We have reverse osmosis water and were looking at your website to see what you thought of it. On your page about candida supplements you say: " Do not use reverse osmosis or distilled water, since they are devoid of minerals, and actually leach (pull out) the body of minerals. Adding minerals to them doesn't help, since it won't stop the leaching, and it isn't possible for processed minerals to duplicate Mother Nature's natural minerals. " But on your page about water and water filter references you say: " Reverse osmosis also removes beneficial minerals, but these can be restored to the diet with a mineral supplement of fine clay or mineral ions added to the water: Add 20 drops of ConcenTrace Liquid Ionic Minerals per gallon. [bee recommends using a good ocean sea salt like Celtic - Nature's Cargo in Canada - to obtain adequate minerals, and not to use clay.] Just wondering it we add the ConcenTrace if that will be okay or not. Thanks for clarifying, a M.
Guest guest
Hi a, We were replacing the minerals in our RO and it did not help. Just wrote about my experience on this group a few days ago. Stopped drinking it and the muscles cramps both my hubby and I were getting every night stopped. Also we, all of us, including my son, who had moved back in 6 months ago, were having to get up at night and pee. He's only 30 and never had to get up at night before. When my hubby got tests and saw the doctor, the doctor said that he wasn't getting enough electrolytes. We never saw this kind of result from a test before. We only have been drinking RO for about a year. We stopped drinking the RO and we no longer have to get up so many times a night (we are older!) and my son not at all, as expected for a young man. I did not write Water & Water Filter References and now that you have pointed it out to me I will delete it. Only follow my recommendations. Other articles are intended to provide more information and/or support what I advise, however many of them were posted on my website a long time ago. Cheers, Bee
