Just keep your carbs low (under 56 grams), protein moderate (70 grams or more) and fats high (175+). began 03/09/10 >
Guest guest
I try to follow the candida diet. I calculated how much Fat, protein and carbs I am supposed to eat. My question is, how do I know how much fat is in my meat or how much carbs are in veggies? I feel kind of lost.

They were inaccurate as to how the Optimal Diet calculates ratios, and so many other things!! Calculate your ratios by clicking on Use This Simple Calculator which is highlighted at the beginning of my article on how to calculate your ratios: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods8.php Next, follow the instructions on how to enter your foods into www.fitday.com to determine the quantities of each kind of food you need to consume: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods9.php Bee

Here's the article you need to first calculate your fat, protein and carb ratios: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods8.php Next, follow instructions in this article for entering your foods on www.fitday.com so you can determine how much to consume of each kind of food, i.e. quantity of foods. Include coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, and cod liver oil intake too. It will split the protein and fat ratios in meats and eggs you eat, and also the carb grams in vegetables you eat, but follow instructions carefully: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods9.php All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Hello Bee, Thank you, that is what I've been doing, I used the simple calculator on your site and I've been using a nutritional calculator that is similat to fitday but works better for me, it's called " myfitnesspal.com " , and I o input everything I eat, along with all my recipes and it breaks down the nutritional content per serving, and that's how I'm staying on track. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Bee, I am questioning fats/oils i.e. coconut oil, ghee butter, olive oil, are bothering me causing cramps, gas, bloating etc. In fact I am questioning all food I eat. I did not eat anything today until afternoon when I had cooked green beans, a little green onion, cilantro with coconut oil. Prior to eating I had not had any food for about 20hrs. I had a little gas, however, after eating, had more gas, abdominal pain, cramps, and the gurgling rumbling etc. Could these fats/oils be causing some of my symptoms, and if so what can I do about it? I have been cooking and pureeing my food. After this little experiment today, I am thinking that they may be the problem. Thank you Elaine

I'm just rereading the very first article on Successfully Overcoming Candida (always good to freshen my knowledge) and I just read where Bee states that meats and fats are the easiest foods to digest. Everything you ate (except the coconut oil) would put stress on your digestive system. In it, she also addresses fat, esp coconut oil: " Coconut oil is a very healing foods which will cause healing and detoxifying reactions. The most common healing reactions are stomach upsets and diarrhea, which are way the body gets rid of toxins. Other healing reactions may include increased mucus in the intestines, throat, nose, sinuses, lungs, etc. " <http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro2.php#s19> Pureeing your foods is a great idea. Have you looked at Bee's liquid program? <http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig6.php> To your health began 03/09/

I was concerned that you were going by the Perfect Health Diet information on the Optimal Diet because you wrote this: " I've been reading the posts about the optimal diet and how many calories are supposed to be consumed from carbs + protein, and I just want to make sure that I got this right. The calculator on the site says I need 70 grams of protein and 56 grams of carbs, so here I've got 126 x 4 = 504, correct? What actually happens is that the nutrients in good healing foods help your body become more able to heal and detoxify, so your body creates those symptoms and reactions. Those symptoms and reactions are how the body heals itself, which are the same symptoms and reactions the body creates as it becomes more and more unhealthy - see this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal14.php IF anything on my program (foods or supplements) " caused " health issues then no one could get healthy on it, and also the Human race could not have survived - see Food Selection for Humans: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/price1.php Also read The Function of Foods: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods40.php In fact ALL disease processes are exactly the same as healing and detoxifying processes created by the body itself in an effort to maintain its health, in spite of poor nutrition, toxins, etc. As Taubes writes in his book Good Calories, Bad Calories, p. 142: " . . .the fundamental feature of all living organisms is the interdependence of the parts of the body to the whole . . . " " . . .all physiological systems [body processes] have to work together to assure survival. " " . . all of the vital mechanisms [processes], however varied they may be, have only one object, that of preserving constant the conditions of life in the internal environment. " However, the medical industry labels each and every " sign " of poor health as separate dis-eases, illnesses, symptoms, syndromes, etc. which are actually normal body reactions and processes. In other words, they are simply " signs " the body is attempting to restore its own balance. As Florence Nightengale, the famous nurse, says: " There are no specific diseases; there are [only] specific disease conditions. " People on this healthy program are giving their bodies what they need to become healthy, so they are now able to progress towards health rather than become more and more unhealthy, or dis-eased. You cannot avoid healing, detoxifying and retracing symptoms and reactions in order to get healthy. All the best, Bee
