If it contains calcium or any other mineral it throws off cal/mag and other mineral balances. If you want to calculate the amount of calcium in it and lower your calcium citrate supplement that would be okay, but then you would not be able to take extra doses when needed for short-term treatments, like for constipation. Baking soda is sodium so it makes your body lose water along with important minerals like calcium and magnesium. If non-buffered ascorbic acid crystals are mixed in enough water it won't burn your throat and it must be taken with meals. You can take the alternative which is vitamin C tablets or capsules. Guest guest
Thanks Bee. The thing is, that no docs understand, is when I became ill 2.5 yrs ago, water alone burns me too! Drinking it. I can tolerate it hot for some reason, but not last 2 days anyway. I am so so sensitive, that having anything acidic seems to burn my throat esophagus and gut. Even the cal/mag citrates, are very acidic for me. Just my particular problem I guess. My problem is also very loose acrid, foul odour stools. For 2.5 yrs now. I only had constipation on 2 occassions, when I had taken antibiotics, and the firm stool lasted a few weeks or so. I always have stool that burns my anus, and is very loose, or 'drizzly'. Strong odour and just not 'normal'. Any ideas? thanks, Tina > +++Hi Tina, > > Calcium or baking soda is added to ascorbic acid crystals to buffer it which makes it less acidic, but it does not help you absorb it. > > If it contains calcium or any other mineral it throws off cal/mag and other mineral balances. It is because of how the body heals itself. You need to do my 9-Day Program: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig6.php Bee
