Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I'm sure that your city or county allows you to assemble gift baskets in your home. You would just apply for a business liscense in your city or county. If you make homemade candy then you would have to set up like any other business like a resturant. You would have to have a certified kitchen and the you would be subject to USDA inspections twice a year. You would also have to go to school to get your certified food mangers certificate. If you are making edible massage lotion then this also would fall under those regulations. Most states you can not make edible lotion in your home and then sell it for consumption ( sort of). Go to the USDA site and look at all the things they regulate. If you purchase candy from somebody that has met all the above requirements and then put it in your baskets , i think you will be fine. Guest guest
That you so much for your help. But I have one more question. The massage oils & things are a huge seller & I would like to continue to do them. A lot of things that I make, (other bath & body products) are really made out of things you could consume. If I simply do not market these " edible products " as edible would I be ok to still sell them? I hope that made sense & thanks again. Guest guest
Hi Annie, I had my right hip resurfaced in January. I had a Cormet 2000 implanted by Dr. Gross in Columbia, SC (www.grossortho.com). I'm not sure what my recovery time was relative to THR but I think it was quicker than most that are press fit (not cemented). I'm not sure about THR that are cemented. I used crutches until two - three weeks and then a cane until six weeks when I was able to walk without a limp. At six weeks I was able to walk over two miles without assistance. The quicker recovery time is only one of the advantages of resurfacing. In fact it is not considered as that important by most that choose resurfacing over THR. Other advantages are: 1) less bone loss (the neck of the femur is left intact, only the tip of the head is affected) 2) larger diameter head than metal/poly or ceramic THR 3) lower incidence of dislocation than THR 4) no stress shielding and thigh pain associated with THR 5) fewer restrictions than THR I had OA and was bone on bone in some spots of my hip. There are also people with AVN that have been resurfaced successfully. The criteria is that there has to be enough good bone to work with. People are encouraged not to wait too long. You will need to send your x-rays to an experienced resurfacing OS to see if you are a candidate. Most OS do not know much about it and will not recommend resurfacing. However, it has been done successfully in Europe and other parts of the world since 1991. For more information click on links and then " ActiveJoints " and the link for " surfacehippy " (another group created by Brewster). Look at all of the alternatives (including large diameter metal-on-metal THR) with an open mind prior to making your decision. Best of luck, Fred Dr. Gross, Cormet 2000 1/21/04 > I would like to know if anybody has had the Hip Resurfacing with metal > on metal or Hip Arthoplasty? > > If you have, how long has it been? > > What brand did you get implanted? > > Was your recovery time quicker? > > I was reading about it and wanted to know if that was an option. Guest guest
Cindi wrote: Hello, Cindi and . I have not looked into CVSA, but I did recently find some information about it when looking at cannabinoids (pot) and achalasia. This is kind of interesting because some people with achalasia use pot for relief from the symptoms of achalasia and to sleep. There are cannabinoid medications (Nabilone, Marinol) that are used to treat vomiting and nausea, and of course people use pot for that too. This all sounds like good news to those looking for help, but there is an interesting twist here. There is evidence that chronic pot (cannabis) use can cause CVSA. I have not seen anything that says the cannabinoid medications can cause it, but I don't know one way or another. See: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve & db=pubmed & dopt=Abstract & list_uids=15479672 or http://tinyurl.com/6cg7l Of course you don't have to do pot to have CVSA. I don't know you , but it seems unlikely to me that you are a chronic pot user with your religious convictions. I just thought the information was interesting since this group has discussed using pot for achalasia before. And in any case, after what I have been through and what I read here about others who have much worse problems, if any have found relief with pot I am happy for them. , I feel for you with all you have been through. Sorry about those wives and the job. One of the things that many people in this group have tried for pain is antidepressants. Turns out that pain and depression have some things in common. They also tend to make each other worse. If you treat one you often make the other better and antidepressants treat both. You are family here. Come and speak your mind. Nonsupportive spouses, lost jobs and faith/hope (getting, having, loosing or finding again) are all topics here. As are all things related to our lives with achalasia. notan
Guest guest
Hi, A very mischievous part of me wanted to say - have you tried a building site? But trying to be a little more helpful - have a look at http://www.do2learn.com/ or http://trainland.tripod.com/ Both sites have a lot of free stuff which people have found useful in the past. Regards I need help in finding a source (preferably free) for making a concrete calendar. Guest guest
So I'm not the only one that was thinking that. I work for a home builder and just finish writing a check for concrete slabs. I could just see them pouring concrete in the shape of a calendar ;^) > Hi, > > A very mischievous part of me wanted to say - have you tried a building > site? Guest guest
Hi , I can totally understand why you are frustrated and frightened. Who wouldn't be with information like you've been given!? Please remember a few things... Each infant with scoliosis is different - no two are alike. Your little one has unique problems/issues that need to be taken into consideration when deciding on the best treatment option for him. Bracing may not be the right plan for him given all his other issues. Also, remember that YOU (the parent) need to have 100% confidence in whomever treats your child. Scoliosis in infants is a rare condition and there are not many pediatric orthopedists out there who specialize in treating these special ones. Regardless of the recommendations from the docs, it is ultimately YOUR choice and decision on how to best treat your child. You need to see a ped. ortho. who will listen to parental input and include the parents in the decision making process (k, off my soapbox LOL). If I had a child with infantile idiopathic scoliosis and other contributing factors, I would seek out the following docs... Dr. D'Astous and team at Shriners in SLC Drs. Betz and D' and team at Shriners in Philly Dr. and team at Shriners in Erie, PA Dr. Emans and team in Boston Dr. in SLC (our personal ortho) These are part of the handful of reputable docs who have extensive experience in treating infants like your son. Also remember that there is not a right and wrong way to treat scoliosis. If you got 10 opinions from 10 different specialist, they would all be different. Getting multiple opinions is sometimes hard because we parents have to ultimately decide which recommendation is correct. Again, each one is different - each child and each specialist. Personally, my son is now 10yrs old was born with severe congenital scoliosis and other structural birth defects. For Braydon, surgical intervention has given him a great outlook on life. His quality of life is much improved from the doom-and-gloom outlook we had when he was born. Please know this is a great forum. You will get many people sharing experiences and giving you advice. Remember that we are not medical professionals - just parents who want the best for other people's children too. My best! Guest guest
Brat, I've been looking, and the closest thing I can find is struvite kidney stones. This is what www.nephrologychannel.com says about them: Struvite StonesThis type of stone, also called an infection stone, develops when a urinary tract infection (e.g., cystitis) affects the chemical balance of the urine. Bacteria in the urinary tract release chemicals that neutralize acid in the urine, which enables bacteria to grow more quickly and promotes struvite stone development. Struvite stones are more common in women because they have urinary tract infections more often. The stones usually develop as jagged structures called "staghorns" and can grow to be quite large. www.urostonecenter.com/anatomy.asp: Magnesium Ammonium Phosphate StonesThese stones are also call triple phosphate, struvite, or infection stones. These stones develop when the urine pH is higher than 7.2 and ammonia is present in the urine. Bacteria that produce urease act on the urea present in urine to form ammonia, bicarbonate, and carbonate ion. The most common bacteria associated with struvite stones is proteus, but other bacteria such as staph aureus, klebsiella pneumoniae, and pseudamonas may also be implicated. Since females are more susceptible to urinary tract infection, struvite stones occur more often in females than males with a ratio of 2:1. Hope that helps. Hugs, I NEED HELP Hi everyone, I need some help today. My daughter is in the hospital in Denver which is 5 hrs from me so I cannot go there. My problem is I don't understand what is wrong and I need your help in understanding. She has a type of kidney stones that have "hooks" on them which make them unable to pass so they will be doing surgery today to remove them. I am told she will have a "straw" inserted for about a month (Idon't understand this unless it is a drainage), then she will go back to have it removed. Does anyone have any information of what I am talking about? I don't even know the name of the condition as my daughter and I don't talk to each other. I would appreciate any help in this so that I may understand just what is going on. Guest guest
I see I neglected to put in about the "straw" . http://www.urostonecenter.com/management.asp Percutaneous NephrolithotomyStones larger than 2-3cm are often better treated with percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Kidney stones that fill the entire renal collecting system, or staghorn stones, sometimes require both percutaneous debulking and subsequent ESWL of remaining fragments. With percutaneous nephrolithotomy, the kidney is accessed through the flank usually under fluoroscopy. Often this portion of the procedure is performed by a radiologist. Once the kidney has been accessed with a needle, a guide wire is placed through the flank into the kidney and passed down to the ureter. The second part of this procedure takes place in the operating room with the patient under anesthesia under the supervision of a urologist. Sometimes the radiologist is also present to assist with dilating the tract from the flank to the kidney. Once this tract is dilated, a scope is inserted through the patient’s side into the kidney and the kidney stone is treated. It may be grasped with a basket and removed or it may be fragmented through the scope with ultrasound, laser, or electrohydraulic lithotripsy. Fragments are then grasped and removed through the scope. A catheter is left through the side into the kidney until it is certain the kidney is draining well and this perc-tube can be safely removed. Risks of this procedure include infection, bleeding, or perforation of the kidney with extravasation of irrigating fluid. Also damage to adjacent organs is possible in approximately 1% of cases. Also patients need to know that there is the possibility of needing repeat procedure, subsequent ESWL, cystoscopic, ureteroscopic, or open procedure post percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Guest guest
I hope this doesn't offend you. If you are low income with now insurance,(I don't know how low), you can get free meds from the company, like I do. I used to be a medical assistant and helped alot of people get free meds. All you have to do is go to needymeds.com, print out the form, fill it out and have your Dr. fill it out and send it in. They don't ask for much. It was one of the easier ones to apply for. Hope that helps. It saves me alot of money! I'm on 30mg. a day! > My name is , I am looking for the best place to buy meds! Can > someone send me a URL? > Thank you
Guest guest
Hey Guys & Especially Jeanetta!!!!! I'm know that this will be deleted, so don't worry about it (last time I replied to a SPAMMER, Dora sent me an apology e-mail) BUT.... ISN'T THE BEST PLACE TO BUY YOUR MEDS FROM A PHARMACY THAT HAS WELL EDUCATED AND CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIANS???? A PHARMACY WHERE EMPLOYEES ARE LICENSED BY THEIR STATE BOARDS OF PHARMACY AND RECEIVE THE KIND OF CE THAT TECH LECTURES HAS TO OFFER??? IT IS PROBABLY MUCH BETTER THAN THE ONE YOU ARE GOING TO 'ORDER' YOUR MEDICATIONS FROM IN PAKISTAN!!!!! If the Group gets this, have a good laugh!!! Christian B. Guest guest
I don't know if I should just jump in here. First of all, I'm new here. I've been taking Lexapro for over two years. If you can't afford your medicine and/or have no insurance you can go to http://www.forestpharm.com/pap/ and down at the bottom click 'download application'. All you have to do is fill in your part and have your doctor fill in his part and they will send you the medicine free. You don't have to pay needymeds the money, Forrest Labs. will send it to you for free! It comes to your doctor's office and you can get 3 months at a time. You don't have to have " NO money " . You'd be surprised what the financial guidelines are. I hope this helps, Sounds good...but are the meds their sending us the real mccoy???? Guest guest
Of course, they're the real McCoy. They come from the company that makes them! Yes, they're real. soothing wrote: > I don't know if I should just jump in here. First of all, I'm new here. > I've been taking Lexapro for over two years. Guest guest
Yes! I got my Celexa free and now my Effexor. And they are the real thing. It's coming from the drug company that makes the drug. :-) Barbara On Sun, 2005-09-11 at 15:10 -0500, Pat wrote: > Of course, they're the real McCoy. They come from the company that makes > them! Guest guest
Dear ALL, Please disregard my last closing on my last post. I will remove it. I have NO idea WHY I typed BS Pharmacy! I have a BS in Chemistry. Wishful thinking I suppose! I have made corrections here and removed that post: Dear Dionne, Start with Medical and Pharmaceutical Terminology Tutorials and lists from THIS site. Also I have my own Prescription Reading Tutorial that I created. I have listed sites that that can help you. In addition I have found that Rx Insider, for the small amount of money I think about $40, is good for Rx script reading of difficult scripts. I am not sure if it is good for beginners or not. But I suggest that you first learn the abbreviations for pharmacy and medical terminology before you spend your money. RxInsider has a sample tour that you can do to see if you want to pay for it. Remember books for $30 to $50 can teach you much and you do not need to pay $200 to $1500 just to learn something that a book can teach you with feedback from a FREE site. IF your state however requires education and graduation, then that is a different story. By all means go for and complete an accredited pharm tech program. This will cost you, as it should, because you would be paying for a full course- not just an overview that books and this site provide - and you would also be meeting the state requiements. Hopefully you would get hands on mock labs and an externship. Hope this helps you. Please let me know what you do chose to do Respectfully, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Chemistry Founder/Owner Mrs Dionne Marie Fields <dionne_fields@...> wrote: i currently work at a local drug store, and i need help with reading rx. do you no if there is a program i can use to train on at home(online or offline). thank you dionne
