Guest guest
Prior to starting this diet I suffered from acid reflux, a terrible burning feeling in my throat after meals. I had no other digestive issues except chronic constipation. After starting the diet, I opted to take 2 Tbsp of sauerkraut with every meal instead of HCl, and it helped. I have had no digestive issues for the past 2 years. Suddenly, I am passing pieces of food in my stools (ie-well cooked spinach ), which has never happened before (aside from tomato skin when I forget to peel). I have also had some stomach/intestinal pain and increased gas with stools. This has been happening for the past 2 or 3 days. I do have a weekly cheat, which I have been trying to not have but always do. I wonder on whether I should go back to sauerkraut with every meal or perhaps start HCL? If it is retracing, should I treat it at all? I'd appreciate any insight, as I'm just not sure what to do. My instincts say retracing because I haven't changed anything, but then I still don't know if I should do anything other than wait it out. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, I had a similar thing happen to me. After months of no stomach pain and having good digestion, I started getting a sore stomach after eating. I started puréeing my foods again and taking HCl which didn't work for me in the past, but for some reason really helped me to get through this rough patch. I did this for about two weeks and now my digestion is feeling better again. It sounds like you are having symptoms of poor digestion, now, too. I think it would be wise to either eat sauerkraut or try taking HCl since they will help your digestion. Puréeing your foods might also be beneficial. Like me, it's possible that this might be short-lived and doing the things I recommend could help you get through this rough patch without having to suffer too much. Guest guest
Thanks . I have been doing sauerkraut since yesterday AM. Hopefully, this will pass fairly quickly, as it did for you. I feel like I'm retracing a lot at once lately with digestion, sinuses/ear, and some tendonitis stuff. I will be glad when I get through this rough patch. Thanks again, Dawn > Hi Dawn, > [snip]> > It sounds like you are having symptoms of poor digestion, now, too.
