I'm asking because I'm seriously thinking of switching over to that diet since I have nagging digestive issues, but I have already gained some weight and if I can avoid to gain even more, I would maybe change my mind. > Best wishes and many thanks for sharing your experience with us! Helene Hi Helene, My lowest weight was 70lbs., about a year and a half ago. I very painfully gained to 95lbs. with the help of a naturopath. Unfortunately, she put me on fiber therapy with laxatives, bentonite clay, charcoal, and several rounds of Nystatin. It was sure determination on my part to survive this ordeal, and ultimately I ended her counsel just before starting Bee's diet. I was 95 lbs. at the time, bedridden, and losing weight rapidly again due to the pain and inflammation that was excelerated with the fiber and Nystatin. Bee's Meat and Fat Program allowed me to finally have the permission to forego the carbs from vegetables (hard when you used to be a vegetarian). I was so very relieved when the pain and burning began to respond very quickly. My comfort level was 200 fold! Before I get too off the subject. Please understand, I WAS extemely thin, even at 95lbs in August. I am 5'7 " . I scared my family for some time with how emaciated I had become, so they still appreciated how much better I looked at 95lbs. than at 70lbs. the year before. So, in answer to your question.... YES, I was very thin to begin with. I also ate 4 meals a day while on the Meats and Fats. I didn't always stay at my protein level(70 grams). My fat intake would be around 170 grams, the low for my calculations, but I had a very hard time keeping the protein at my limit. I would often find myself around 90 grams of protein after four meals. I just couldn't seem to last more than 3 hours between meals, and protein was the satiating factor during that time. My only " carb " was about 1/2 cup of bone broth with each meal. This proved to be very soothing, both physically and mentally. I'm struggling with how these 30 lbs. feel on me. My muscles are complaining about the stress. I was bedridden or confined to our home for years, so they became weak due to lack of use (which they remind me of every day). The good part? I can take the dog out for a walk; I work with my husband every day; I am taking care of my family, instead of them taking care of me. I AM getting stronger. I lifted my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter into my arms today. I'm begining to live life again, with all its unpredictability and uncetainty, trusting in the healing process.
