Guest guest
Becki Your condition makes me feel sad for you and I want you to get better, hopefully without surgical intervention. Surgery is such a cruel way to " cure " a problem. In light of that, I have even more question marks for you, I hope you won't be offended by them. Does any of the literature on SOD etiology list STRESS or PSYCHOLOGICAL INFLUENCE on the spasm of the muscle? Do you notice any connection to stressful events in your life, menstrual cycle, seasonal or holiday influence, body weight, exercise, or dietary influence? Is there something very bad going on in your life right now that could cause something inside to get tensed up? I'm wondering about this because of the complex nervous component being discovered in the digestive tract (second only to the brain in neurotransmitter production). Some of these " control " nerves to the sphincter could have been damaged by surgery. These nerves originate from spinal nerves and could be stuck " on " by back damage (subluxation, even minor) or they could be currently stimulated by stones or sludge in the bile ducts or other triggers from the digestive tract. It is a fact that a living muscle can't spasm without a nervous (electrical) input. I'm just trying to " track it back " to the true source. I'm also wondering how supplementation with calming teas, herbs or essences would affect to the spasms? (it can work everywhere else). What effect would fasting do? How about working with a diet that favors soothing muscle and nerves and avoiding all the things that are excitory (coffee, tea, certain spices, sugar, ciggies)? Are there homeopathic remedies in the literature that relax this particular spasms? (there are many muscle spasm remedies) How about meridian massage, Reiki, or spinal alignment? How about acupuncture? Will in Minneapolis
