I usually have it for breakfast too on the days I work (4 days). I don't usually have it any other days for the sake of some variety. My problem is I'm convinced it's causing constipation and I'm not sure if that's because I'm having it twice a day on those 4 days or whether it's my proportions that are wrong (4 eggs, 1 1/4 cups water, 2 Tbs each CO and ghee, sea salt , touch of stevia or yeast flakes). I am going to cut it down to 3 eggs and have it only for lunch and see if that makes a difference, but I have experimented and I know for sure that it is the culprit. I don't want to cut it out as that will mean coming up with lunch ideas! Any thoughts? +++Hi Priya, Have you ever been constipated in your life before starting this program? Guest guest
Maybe you could try not using the ground cinnamon & nutmeg. I've replaced the powdered spices with a cinnamon and ginger tea that I make by boiling cinnamon sticks and fresh ginger slices. I strain the tea and use this in the egg drink. I'm not sure it's made a difference with my digestion, but intuitively this would be easier to digest. Cinnamon is the bark of a tree, and nutmeg is a nut, so even if these are in a powder form, I don't think they'd be easy to digest. I understand that I will retrace constipation but why wouldn't that be random as opposed to being connected to a particular combination of nutrients as in the drink? Thanks, Priya

Actually, I don't put cinnamon in my egg drink 'cos I can't find non-irradiated spices here in Bangkok. I will experiment with fewer eggs in the mix and see if that helps. I suggest you always cook the spices for the egg drink, which is now included in my recipe, since spices, like any plant foods, have fibers in their cell walls which will digest better if they are broken down by cooking. But I do have a suggestion re convenient food for work. I'm guessing you take the egg drink to work in a thermos. I used to do that too. An alternative is taking a wide mouth thermos with some actual food in it. What I do in the morning, is in a saucepan, fry up some onion in coconut oil, then throw in my meat (diced up), then add a chopped tomato (or some flowers of cauliflower etc). Takes about 10 - 15 mins to 3/4 cooked. Then I pour it from the saucepan into the thermos, add 2 tablespoons of coco oil or butter, then screw the lid on. It's so easy, cooks while I finish cleaning the kitchen and the best part is that by the time I eat it, it has been slow cooking (stewing) in the thermos for a good 4 hours and fully cooked. Smells great and tastes so nutritious and for me, is just as easy as preparing the egg drink for a thermos. Blessings,

I like your idea very much and will get a wide mouth thermos! I think the constipation thing will be better now that I'm cutting down from 4 to 3 eggs in the drink and having it once a day, not twice. The other reason for taking it to work is that I can avoid people looking at what I'm eating and asking questions/commenting (sigh!). Take care, Priya
