Guest guest
I kind of have a hard time with the Germ Theory too, because I have four kids, and all four of my kids had the chicken pox at the exact same time. And that happened like exactly a week after we spent the day over at a friends house who's kids had Chicken pox. Really makes one wonder about these things. Carol From: t_steph1@... I know of a person who " caught " HIV from sleeping with someone who had it. I just dont understand how she could end up with it somehow out of the blue after she slept with one man who had it. It couldnt just be coincidence?? I know of other cases as well, I have friends who work as nurses at a hospital. Also, another disturbing case my friend told me about was a man who's son had strep throat and the man had a bad wound on his arm and someone the " strep " got into his wound and creating a type of flesh eating disease. It's just things like this that I hear about and see that make your theory very hard for me to believe. I am somehow LESS paranoid about " catching " things from people, but still a little paranoid at the same time. I still wash my hands like crazy after touching the hand rails in the train on the way home haha. IT'S JUST SO HARD FOR ME TO WRAP MY HEAD AROUND. No disrespect intended.... I'm just learning. Guest guest
Yep and when I was little I got chicken pox from being in a swimming class with my friend who had chicken pox and then my brother and sister got it right after me. I also have a lot of other examples of " catching " things from people. Another one was when a nasty stomache flu swept through my office, and trust me I did not eat anything like my coworkers did. I've been a " heatlth freak " for years. I was in the the office bathroom and my co-worker was puking in the toilet and then went home. The next day I was vomiting and ended up with the worst stomach flu ever. And this was the day I went to visit my family and then they ended up catching it from me. SAME symptoms and I NEVER spend time with them, they live in Saskatoon and I live in Calgary. We didnt eat anything the same (because I was on another special diet at the time) and we had just gotten together for the first time in 6 months. They got the same flu a day and a half later... It just cant be a coincidence?? Sooooo confuuuuuuuuuuuuuused. > > > I kind of have a hard time with the Germ Theory too, because I have four kids, and all four of my kids had the chicken pox at the exact same time. Guest guest
Our family just had the same experience with a stomach bug. Went from the baby to me, to my hubby, to my son, to my mom. All in a matter of four days. No disrespect. Just confused. Guest guest
I can buy what Bee is saying, but I think that we can ' catch' another's healing reaction. What if our body alters its tiny microbes to match the bacteria or virus of another person as a precautionary measure, in the same manner as a yawn. I don't really know, it's just how I look at things. If our bodies are smart enough to self-heal, then why wouldn't they be smart enough to have precautionary measures to prevent toxins before they settle in. It isn't necessary to believe the germ theory is false in order to do this program and get healthy anyway. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
I look at it this way, you don't have to agree or disagree with the germ theory in order to benefit from this diet. One can investigate the scientific literature further (like Bee does), educate themselves, and form their own conclusions. One can also conclude that the theories behind it all doesn't really matter to them personally. We just need to engage in the activities that make us/keep us healthy. I'm not suggesting that anyone be a blind follower. Only that we don't have to agree on everything to agree that this diet works, for whatever reason. I happen to believe in germ theory, but I don't exclude other things from going on too. I do, however, believe this diet is beneficial. Just my two cents. Bottom line, I believe in this way of eating and believe it gives the body the very best chance to be the healthiest and disease resistant as possible. - Roy M.
