It's way too long for her to be so debilitated. That doesn't mean you have to do the treatments recommended, but you need to know what is going on, and that there isn't anything emergent happening with her. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, I have a daughter who suffered terrible tummy pains for a long long time and was very poorly. Is there anything I can do to help? Can you tell me alittle about what is wrong and how long she has been on the diet? I tried to search for other messages by you to give me information but couldn't find any recent ones. Guest guest
Hi , My daughter has had stomach pain for 3 months ever since she started with the strep. She was unable to lick the strep on the correct foods although in the past she has been able to get rid of the stomach pain just being on the same foods as Bee's diet. We stopped all non- Bee supplements and her ritalin on January 1st. She has pain by the belly button, gas, low energy, and itchy skin from the candida coming out. I did do antibiotics when the natural remedies failed. Monday night she thru up food she ate Sunday. The doctor wants to have an xray done of the liquid going thru the tummy. He also gave us a scrip for Ranitidine 150 mg to reduces stomach acid. She just started to burp up a little liquid today. Today she ate more protein and vegtable then fats so I will try to get some fats in her. My daughter has battled candida all her life along with a poor immune system, strep, parasites...Any thoughts... Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, Poor you! I'm sure we can get her better though. Although you didn't tell me much about her, she sounds like my daughter. She is now 11 and used to suffer from severe gut and bowel disorders together with life threatening allergies, severe asthma, autism and many other psycholgical and behavioural disorders, pyroluria( which affects the synthesis of haemoglobin) etc etc. She had tummy pains for years and years. Are you on the intro with her? I would say she needs to go on a liquid diet quick. How long since she had the antibiotics? I would say that the ranitandine was a bad idea, as she is most likely to be producing too little Hcl. Going on to the proper dose of HCL was a major turning point for my daughter and many many other candida sufferers. Have you tried it? What other non diet supplements was she on ? You may have taken her off non diet stuff too quick. I had to do everything very very slow. If she has got alot of gas, that is what is giving the pain, so you must only give her the gentlest food. I would give her very little veg and if so cooked to oblivion. The veg and fiber that your child can not digest will encourage yeast and bacteria to grow to clear up for her. They will creat a painful fermentation chamber down there. Do stop the lemon too, if you are on it. Yes you must get some fats into her! But again don't do anything too quick. I'm sorry I don't have any more time now, but don't hesitate to ask any more questions. Guest guest
Hi , My daughters name is and is 12 with ADHD and RAD and behavior stuff. She was on a Standard Process supplements for her liver and heart. I stopped everything really quick, should I add some of the supplements back in? I am going to go out and get a new blender and try that, any suggestions. Bonnie On Thu, Jan 13, 2011 at 8:29 AM, a_quinn66 <a_quinn66@...> wrote: > > > Hi Bonnie, Poor you! Guest guest
Hi Bee, The doc recomended the Barium Xray test which my husband wants to do. I backed off on the coconut oil to about 1T today (was at about 4T), gave her broth, eggs and hamburger, 3 T butter. I was trying to follow the correct fat/protein ratio but could I have done too much coconut oil and butter? I am also thinking of trying the liquid diet but without enemas, she is going a few times a day, dumping the sludge and loose stools. I also forgot to mention that I have been giving her melatonin to get her to sleep on a regular basis and a just a few times have given her motrin for the pain at night. I am hoping the severe pain will stop so I can stop the pills. Do you have any other thoughts. Thanks for everything! Bonnie
Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, it depends what was in those supplements. I am from england so am not familiar with standard process. She is healing too quick if she is in alot of pain, so you have to try and calculate what bad things you have taken away, which will cause healing and how much healing food you have added in, which will cause healing. Its not just the coco oil that could be causing trouble right now, it is all the healing foods, fats, eggs, fish etc. As far as the blender goes, don't forget that the veg still needs to be cooked really really well. How long has she been on the diet? When did she have the antibiotics? Did you try HCL? The more information you can give me about what she is eating and what happened prior to getting ill with strep and now this time too. Sometimes it all just takes abit of untangling. My daughter is 11 by the way! Feel free to ask any more questions, I'm sure we can straighten things out for . Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for all of your help and support, I really appreciate it. My has been on the diet for 13 days without meds and other supplements. She is also detoxing from Ritalin. We did increase the eggs, but she eats lots of hamburgers, venison, green beans. I decreased the butter today too, what should i start with and how do I get the good oils in and meet the 80/20ratio?. She was eating meat, low glycemic vegtables and fat for two years and added the supplements in fall but did not have the right ratios correct till recently. I added the hcl today 1 for breakfast and 2 after lunch (45min) I blended hamburger and broth today. Again Thank you for your help, I did not expect it...Bonnie On Thu, Jan 13, 2011 at 2:42 PM, a_quinn66 <a_quinn66@...> wrote: > > > > Hi Bonnie, it depends what was in those supplements. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, My goodness no wonder your daughter is having such debilitating pain. You have started her way too quickly on Bee's diet with such a high amount of fat. You need to back way up with everything and start slowly. For only being on the diet 13 days, even 1 Tbsp of coconut oil is a lot and with the 3 Tbsp of butter along with that, it's really a lot! Most people get healing reactions in the beginning simply by not eating many carbs and eating the healing foods that Bee recommends (and very little fat). Bee suggests that we start with only 1/2 tsp. of coconut oil 3 times a day to begin with (and even less if the healing reactions are severe). This is not a race to get up to the required fat ratio. It takes time. You need to go by how well your daughter is tolerating the foods and the fats. Once she can comfortably tolerate the starting dose of coconut oil, give her a little butter to try. Once that is tolerated, increase by another 1/2 teaspoon and so on. It took me six months to get up to the required adult dosage of coconut oil and another couple of months to add in extra butter to get up my proper fat ratio. I can't stress enough how important it is to find the balance between having some healing reactions and still progressing towards her calculated ratios. Be patient with it. Rushing things only causes unnecessary suffering. Please take it easy. Group Moderator > > Hi Bee, > > The doc recomended the Barium Xray test which my husband wants to do. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, This is what Bee recommends for children: Supplement Doses for Children: 18 months to 7 years old, 1/3rd of an adult dose 7 to 12 years old, 1/2 of an adult dose over 12 years old, the same dose as adults take How close is your daughter to 13? Is she big or small for her age? I'd say maybe give her the 1/2 dose for now while she is having a rough go and then give the full dose when turns 13. Otherwise, you could wait to see what Bee says. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, my goodness no wonder she is in so much pain! I agree with , you are doing it way too fast. Please, please slow down. My family and I were very poorly and had to go very very slowly, more slow than even. That is alot of coco oil and butter to start her on even if she was on a similiar diet before. It sounds like she has quite a lot of detoxing to do too if you includ the antibiotics aswell. Thank goodness you told us how much you were giving her! Doing this diet is a gradual process of healing, it's inportant to try and heal in manageable chunks especially with children. You will graduly learn what is the right speed for your child, everyone is different. Keep feeding us back with more info, and how she is progressing. Take care of yourself too. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for all of your help. I stopped all supplements and coconut oil and butter today, I used some beef fat but not much. Can I use lots of pork fat or do I need to do that slow too? She is starving and still has lots of pain in her stomach and head. She needs fat to fill her up or she will be stealing food from garbage cans. The upper GI did not show any problems today. Thanks for your help. Bonnie On Fri, Jan 14, 2011 at 3:04 PM, a_quinn66 <a_quinn66@...> wrote: > > > Hi Bonnie, my goodness no wonder she is in so much pain! Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, How is she feeling today after stopping all supplements, coconut oil and butter? The pork fat will also cause healing reactions. All good fats will, so you don't want to give her any more fat right now other than the recommended 1/2 tsp. of coconut oil three times per day. If she is hungry, feed her the meat and veggies allowed on Bee's program. Boiled eggs are good to have on hand for snacks between meals. At this point, you may even want to back up even more by giving her buckwheat pancakes (the recipe is on Bee's website) just until she is pain-free and you can start again by going really slowly. You may want tol check this with Bee to get her opinion, but that is what I would with my child if they were suffering like your daughter is. In the beginning, it is okay for her eat between meals if she is really hungry. Later on, once her appetite decreases, you can be more strict about only eating at meal times. In the beginning, she will feel hungry as her body switches from glucose burning to fat burning. Most people report it taking about a month or so to do this to happen, although it could take longer. Since the upper GI series didn't show any problems, I would imagine that her pain was caused by all the healing reactions from eating so much fat. I know that it's hard to believe that food could cause such extreme reactions, but I've learned from this program that it really can. Take care, Group Moderator > > Hi , > > Thanks for all of your help. I stopped all supplements and coconut oil and > butter today, I used some beef fat but not much. Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for your response, I ended up giving 1T of Olive oil to curve the hunger yesterday and today but will not give her any more. She does not feel any better, still has stomach & head pain and itchy skin. I also tried to reduce the melatonin to 2mg instead of 3mg but had trouble getting her to sleep. I resorted to 3/4tsp of benadryl which is just a desparate measure. She still only slept 7 hours last night. I appreciate your help. I really want her to get through this. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, I can understand you don't want to give her any grains. My son used to be very aggressive, too. Yes, go ahead and give her the sprouted sunflower seeds. You could also try giving her other higher carb vegetables like potato, sweet potatoes or carrots. Let her eat until she feels full and let her eat between meals. Protein will also help to fill her up. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, sorry to hear that she is still in pain. Have you tried a very gentle tummy massage to move those horrible bubbles around? That used to help my daughter. I agree with that all good fats will cause her healing but from my experience find pork or lamb or beef fat to be more gentle than coco oil. If it was my child I would stick to just those for now and leave the coco oil completely for a little while. I also think that 's idea of a starchier veg would be a better option than a seed or grain. Its been a while since she ate anything like that hasn't it? Try filling her up with as much liquid and broth as possible. Remember too that eggs, especially the white are a strong healing food too so you may want to just give her the yolks for now. Ditto fish which again I would avoid. Everybody is different, my daughter was an extreme case, you will get a feel for how it is for your daughter soon. Trust your instincts and don't be afraid to ask questions! Have you tried to let her have naps in the day time? Especially after meals? Would you consider snuggling down to sleep with her when she is having difficulty? I consider myself the melatonin in our house! We all do so much detoxing while we sleep that it is no wonder it is so difficult sometimes!Hope this is of some help. Guest guest
Hi , My daughter had a much better night, she made it without the melatonin or pain relievers and we never did the starchy vegtable or seed cheat:). She also gained some strength yesterday and played outside in the snow! Thank you for your help, we are so happy!
