Once people get healthy on this program, do all or most people stay in ketosis? Since an occasional fruit is okay for healthy people, I am wondering if people's carbs go up higher and then they don't stay in ketosis? You've mentioned that it's not good for the body to be switching back and forth which type of fuel it's burning for energy. Just wondering what to expect a couple of years down the road:) > > Thank as always!! > Marti > *** Hi Marti - Here is an article Bee refers to concerning ketosis, while you wait for her to check back in in the morning. Perhaps it will have an answer for you: +++You do go into ketosis, which is very healthy - see this article: <http://www.biblelife.org/ketosis.htm> Hope that helps , moderator

However, one piece of fruit isn't enough to do that. My ratio calculations are adopted from Dr. Jan Kwasniewski's Optimal Diet since those ratios had been proven to be safe and successful for healing. Dr. K has been curing heart disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, and many other disorders in Poland for over 40 years. Dr. K. writes: http://homodiet.netfirms.com/diet/fat.htm " Under no circumstances should we mix different kinds of fuel or the two different sources of energy: fats and carbohydrates, more precisely we should maintain a correct proportion between the two. By eating animal fats we not only receive concentrated energy, but we also receive all the fat-accompanying elements needed to obtain this energy, in the necessary quantity and proportion. The human body metabolises (processes) animal fats easily and such metabolism is energetically economical. The digestive system is designed to slowly deliver the building blocks and energy containing matter. " I believe it is because the body has to change many processes in order to process higher carbs/glucose that it is unable to do overnight. In order to process glucose there is an increased need for oxygen, hormones, enzymes, and many nutrients compared to what it needs when processing fats. This puts a lot stress on the body that creates reactions and symptoms until it has switched over, just like the reactions and symptoms created when the body switched to using fats instead of glucose. All the best, Bee
