Guest guest
Sorry, I've been gone for about 10 days and have fallen behind. However, I did learn a few things while gone. The ongoing conversation about milk thistle seeds, flax seeds, apple juice, beet kvass and others is the kind of thing I love about this group. There is always room to learn more. Poor planning caused me to travel without my usual daily supplements and I was in an area of the country without good health stores. I lucked out in that my host had many health supplements on hand for me to select from. Here's what I took as a substitute for my usual and I'm happy to say that really gave me a good feeling in the tummy. This was especially appreciated because the trip provided many meals, often too late at night and of too much quantity (my bad) that were an extreme test of my GB healing progress. (all these came from Fargo, ND's Swanson's Vitamins www.swansonvitamins.com 1-800-437-4148. They are really CHEAP and seem to be top quality- incidentally, I have ZERO connection to this company, but I plan to reorder- check out the website or catalog and let me know what you think) 1) -------Swanson's Digestive Enzymes-------------- (pancreatin, ox bile, dastase, papan, bromelain, betaine) 2) --------Swanson N'Zimes ----------- (amylase, protease, lipase, cellulase, peptase, protease, others) 3) ----------Swanson's Digestitol--------------- (lactase, pancreatin, bromelain, bioperine, cerecalase) 4) ---------Swanson's Hydrochloric Acid w/Pepsin-------- (Beta-HCl 324 mg and pepsin 14 mg) I was unsure of dose so I doused via muscle testing and came up with 2 tabs or caps of each product 2-3 times a day preferrably before meals. I'm sure that dosage is variable and that there is some duplication within these products when taken together. I'm reordering though based on the good results. This is the first time I've taken ox bile and HCl. I know many here swear by the HCl. I was also unable to find any good fresh apple juice on the road so I ate a few apples and HAPPILY remembered that I could get the good ENGLISH HARD CIDERS such as Woodpecker and Horner's (I skip the local copycat versions such as Woodchuck as I think that they are too sweet). Has anyone had any experience with these good ciders? They really are a fantastic alternative to other alcoholic beverages so someone PLEASE tell me that they are medicinal for our gall bladders as well! I am willing to donate my body to this scientific research project. Thanks, Will in Minneapolis
