Guest guest
I will be trying this for sure, probably tomorrow! Today I had almond milk with ginger in it--but I like the gelatin idea, as a thick drink seems more warming on chilly days... Guest guest
Tamara, Would Olive oil or borage oil work as well as the coconut oil? After all, it is an avoid for us. Guest guest
I was thinking I'd just leave out the coconut oil myself, or put in a little cream. Guest guest
At least, cream is mostly fat, and seems to be more tolerable to some of us, as is its derivative, butter. Guest guest
We aren't supposed to have much soy either, but you can get cream made from soy, which would be better than regular cream. I had borage oil once, Borage is an avoid for non-secretors, neutral for secretors. Olive oil is beneficial. ....Irene -- Irene de Villiers, B.Sc AASCA MCSSA D.I.Hom. Guest guest
I made a version of this this morning, with 2 eggs, 2 T. butter only, rooibos chai tea, adding stevia. I started blending the egg and butter and then added the hot liquid with the motor running. After it was blended it wasn't hot enough for me, so I heated it again a little. It was very nice! I think I will be experimenting more on this idea. It could be a way to drink my breakfast hot, on chilly winter mornings. Guest guest
Does the hot water cook the egg? Is it like a custard or something?
Guest guest
Mine was like eggnog. I assume that the nearly boiling tea cooked the egg " enough. " I added the tea with the blender running so that the egg would be sure to cook while it was emulsifying with the butter. I couldn't make myself put in half as much fat as Tamara's recipe called for, not because I'm afraid of eating that much fat, but because it goes down too quickly and calorifically in a drink, and I wanted to eat something solid, too. I'd like to try it with more egg, more gelatin, and more spice--probably ginger. My tea was Chai, but the final concoction ended up being mildly-flavored. Cooking them doesn't negate the benefits, however they shouldn't be overcooked. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Great thank you Bee! I also have always assumed intolerance to eggs as they seem to create mucus in my stool. However, based on your answer to my previous post about being sensitive to coconut oil, I've since tried it and been fine! Having detox reactions with it but that is okay with me, I can tell the difference between die off and allergy/sensitivity. That said, would you recommend going ahead and trying the eggs as well? I can see that they are a vital part of your program. Many thanks. > > > > Hello - I am thinking about starting the program and had some questions on the egg drink, do the eggs have to be raw? can you cook them slightly or does this negate the beneficial effect. > > +++Hi jennifer, > > You can poach the eggs if you wish, or allow the boiled water to cook them before blending the drink. > > Cooking them doesn't negate the benefits, however they shouldn't be overcooked. > > All the best, Bee >

Instead of getting die-off as they define it, you are getting healing and detoxifying reactions. Yes, you can start on eggs. Try 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of egg yolk only 2-3 times a day with meals and increase it every 5 days or so. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee, I currently have 4 eggs in my smoothie, and i would like to maybe add 1 or 2 more eggs. Your thoughts. Also i use 2 cups of water, and would like to decrease it a little. Is there a minimum or maximum amount of water you recommend? Your friend, Caine............ Guest guest
Hi , Ok that sounds great, thank you. Caine................. > Hi Caine, > > The beauty of the Egg Drink recipe is that it is flexible. It's perfectly fine to add more eggs and decrease the amount of water. Some people doctor it up in different ways, adding bone broth instead of water making it savoury instead of sweet. It's up to you, really.
