This has not been my experience. I took 50 mgs for 1 1/2 years and then increased to 100 mgs and within one week I had HUGE detox issues. So you would think after that long of a time on 50 mgs there wouldn't be much left to detox. But there was for me.

It is all very unique to each individual. For some 12.5 mgs puts them into detox and for others like me it wasn't until 100 mgs that I hit the detoxing.

If you feel bad then just stop it, reduce it or take a few days off. There is no way anyone can tell you how you will react to it or when.

More than likely. Add more salt and Vit C.

Hi ...for me that has been my major bromide detox symptom. Along with watery blurry eyes and runny nose. But those symptoms have stopped. Only the the looseness remains.

How about sweating? I have done this terribly after upping to 3

iodoral's daily. I am post menapausal. I wake up dripping wet many

mornings from sweating at night and break out in sweats many times

during the day. Also during work outs I sweat tuns more than I used

to. I figure this must be a good thing as probably getting rid of

toxins. My blood test for iodine showed a way abnormally high level

of iodine. I have just taken the 24 hour urine test but not received

the results as yet. V

Hey, Steph~I am listening to your interview on TalkShoe...really great...not finished yet, but I had to comment onwhat your children think.I have 6 children and they didn't " appreciate " it all growing up either! BUT, now that my daughter, who is 26 and married, a doula and studying to be a midwife, is dealing with folks...she just can't understand why these folks don't appreciate all the good info she is passing along to them! LOL!

And, my number 2 son was at work the other day and giving " advice " to a coworker regarding some health issues he said to me that he couldn't believe that he is starting to sound like his mother, but that this was a GOOD thing!

Hang in there, cause I know you will...I just wanted to let you know that the day will come that you will get to experience that good feeling of appreciate that I have gotten to do lately!!With MUCH appreciation~

Hi ...you say you had a blood test that showed abnormally high

Iodine. Could it be that the test ranges are geared to 'normal' levels

in people, which would be too low? I was told by my Dr that the labs

arrive at test ranges by collecting the data from so called 'healthy

people' and use the range that they feel is normal for the general

population. How can that work if the genral population is subnormal?

This would explain the ridiculous range for TSH levels and the 'normal

low' end of T4 and T3 actually indicating Hypo.

IMO, you may want to rule out things other than detox if loose stools is an ongoing issue - when was the last time you had your thyroid checked? What are your FT3 levels? Also how much Vit C and magnesium are you taking because these things can cause major loose stools if you are taking more than your body needs.Take care,Marlena>> > Hi ...for me that has been my major bromide detox symptom. In Oregon,100 Naturalpaths and chiropractors each sent their 50 most

healthy patients in for complete blood panel work. That gave them a

base of 5000 healthy people to compare blood work statistics to. This

enables the doctors to locate problems in the early stages.

That is something my chiropractor proposed during her training and

soon became a project of its own . They also agreed to order a

standard panel which was worth $360 but costs only $79 if we do cash

and then submit to the insurance company ourselves. This gives the

doctors much more information to work with for diagnosis and much more

information than insurance companies will typically pay for. It is 2

pages of results and usually takes an hour to discuss but mine are

still typically complex.

Sounds hormonal / adrenal related. They go " wiggy " in menopause and after

Hi ...I thought about that too, but I was so much out of range I

tend to still think my blood level must be too high. (I was 1864

w/reference ranges of 40-92). I am also wondering if a blood test for

iodine is the same as thyroid and adrenal blood testing (not typical

of cellular levels). I am still waiting for the 24 hour iodine urine

test. I'm anxious to see what that is. V

Hi Marlena, I have just about ruled out everything you mentioned. I

just had my thyroid checked, and all is OK there. I take compounded

porcine thyroid hormone (same as armour but without all the junky

binders & fillers). I am in the 5-10% of the population that has to

keep TSH levels almost depleted in order to keep FT3 & FT4 levels

within the high end of normal. I have been doing this for the last 4

years with no problems. My doctor tells me that happens to a small

percentage of the population. I quit taking magnesium and am only

taking 500 mg of vitamin C. I have even gone the gastrologist route.

Now I'm getting muscular cramps again everywhere so I will probably

start back with the magnesium. Only thing I can think of now is that

being I have celiac disease I am injesting gluten somewhere along the

line as we do eat out a lot. I am now just sticking with certain

salads when we eat out. I was just wondering if the iodoral I'm

taking, being my blood work was so above normal, could be causing any

problems. Thanks for your response. V

Hi Group,

I am sure that my body overreacts to things. My sister calls us

canaries like the coal miners used. I have had more reactions to meds

and supplements than typical so am seeking help from any with ideas.

Before this had no reaction to iodine so maybe this is part of needed

path to clearing the toxins.

I am having really weird detox symptoms to ATP cofactors. I have been

fine on 3pills of iodoral since January with 200mcg of selenium. I did

add the 4th pill this month with no new issues. This week I added ATP

cofactors and had quite a reaction to it. I had a migraine with sword

thru head feeling. I had fevers and chills, sneezing and dizzy. I even

saw halos and zigzags which got hubby to tell me to keep down. I

blamed it all on FM.

Then day 2 just after I swallowed another ATP cofactor, I figured it

out. Reaction wasn't as bad. Headache toward migraine and listless.

But my temp is up to 99.3 which probably hasn't happened in 20 years

as usually 95. Armor is fixing that gradually though.

I plan to skip ATP cofactors today but wonder if 1/4 pill would be of

any use or should I just skip it for awhile. Thanks for your ideas.

Hi Pamela-

I did have two episodes of halos, without migraine, in the beginning

of detoxing. Also have regularly had a low grade fever, with sneezing

and frontal headache, listlessness as symptoms of detoxing. It does

sound like your symptoms were much worse than mine, but it sounds like

they could be from detoxing. Especially if your body reacts to

" everything " . Why when you took the ATP cofactors? Maybe without the

cofactors you weren't detoxing as effectively. Just a theory. Maybe

someone else will actually know the science there.

Feel better soon, okay?

Blessings-

Vicki

That's what I am thinking. ATP is what creates the " power " in the cell. It

will kick up you energy so it is possible that it is kicking up detoxing

from the cells.

Oh good I'm glad you looked into those other things already! I agree that your high iodine results are quite interesting and worth looking into further. It sounds like an iodine loading test would be the be the next best thing to do to compare those results with your blood results. And what happens when you lower your Iodoral dose? Do the loose stools improve? If not then it seems like yes it might be something different altogether.Best,Marlena>> Hi Marlena, I have just about ruled out everything you mentioned. I agree! I find ATP Cofactors makes the iodine much more effective than if I take iodine without ATP Cofactors. I still don't have more energy yet, but the hypothyroid symptom that seems to be helped in me so far is constipation. When I take 2 ATP Cofactors with my 50mg Iodoral it improves this symptom significantly more than without the ATP, so that tells me it would definitely speed up detox as well! And I think I've experienced that too - somedays feeling worse, etc ...

Is it true that ATP Cofactors are just Vit B2 & B3? I'm just

wondering because it is a lot cheaper to buy the Vit B2 & B3 and take

the equivalent of the ATP Cofactors. However, if there is something

else in the ATP cofactors, I don't want to miss out on it.
