Hi,

I have a question about my hypo medication. I take .05 mg of Levothyroxine

every morning. Would you suggest staying on it while I'm on the diet or not?

Thanks,

+++Hi ,

Your thyroid will normalize on this program so you do not want to be taking meds

when that happens. That's how I lost my thyroid in 1986 because I was still

taking thyroid hormones and iodine when my thyroid was trying to normalize,

which made it go into a tizzy, from low to high. But I didn't know that was

what was happening.

When you need to be totally off them depends upon how long your thyroid has been

low, since it takes 1 month of natural healing for every year. If your thyroid

has been low for 6 years it will take 6 months, once you are completely on this

program, for it to normalize.

You should be off meds at least 1 month before the 6 month timeline, i.e. 5

months.

All the best, Bee

Thanks. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid about a six months ago, but I think it

may have been present for quite some time before that. Maybe the best thing to

do is go off of the meds now and get a baseline blood analysis, continue on the

diet and check again in a few months?

+++Hi . Yes, it is much safer to stop taking them now since it may take

less than 1 month for your thyroid to start normalizing. You can do tests if

you want, but you'll know when your thyroid is better.

I had very obvious hypothyroid symptoms since late 2007 and this time

coconut oil did not seem to help at all.

However, I think I have had a low level thyroid problem for some time and

when I first started coconut oil in 2005 it seemed to help quite a bit with

some of the symptoms.

I don't know about cholesterol but mine cholesterol was recently tested and

was all within range on a high good fat diet as per Nourishing

Traditions/Weston Price.
