Guest guest
Gail, No idea but how awful! Have you had other surgeries requiring aenestizia (I can't spell that and too old to learn I guess ) Do you still take your ZMA fuel? It helped me so much when I was losing hair. I still take it and may forever. Hope someon has some info for you. HUGS in Ark > Good Morning everyone. I will be 2 years on May 28 of this year. My hair has > started falling out again. Guest guest
, I too lost a lot of hair, but my was thin on top to begin with. I used to use a wiglet but found I lost too much hair on top and sides that there was nothing to pin the wiglet to any more so I had to end up buying a full wig, but no big deal they look so natural, no one knows if you don't say. I don't think there is really anything to take, just wait it out. Rosemary Commisso (DrR 1/26/01 297--195)
Guest guest
, Nothing I have found seems to have stopped it. For me keeping the protein levels up and taking boitin and MSM helped it to slow down. I started losing hair at 5 mos out and it continued for about 4-5 months. It started growing back a year after it began falling out. Guest guest
My hair loss started at about 4 months and fell out in handfuls until the 10th month. I was thinking that I would have to look into getting a wig when it stopped. Now it is back better than ever. Anything you take to help combat the loss takes several months to do anything. People really need to start the supplements even before they have surgery. <G> Margaret in St. Louis MGB 12/13/00 250 / 157 > > Hi all, > > > > This is from Utah and I had surgery with Dr. Zinni in Las > > Vegas in Sept. 4th. Guest guest
, Dr R suggested we take Zinc Sulfate, so I started taking that, 220 mg 3x/day and the hair loss slowed somewhat, but for someone with thin hair like me it was still too much. Then, I started taking Biotin, 1000 mcg 3x/day and within 2 weeks the hair loss stopped. When I ran out of the Zinc Sulfate I just stopped taking it and kept taking the Biotin. Within a couple weeks the hair loss started again. So, now, I take both every day and the hair loss has stopped and I have new hair growing like crazy. Zinc Sulfate and Biotin together works great for me. Guest guest
, My hair loss started at about 3-4 months and ended at 6-7 months. While I lost quite a bit of hair, it came right back. No one else even noticed. I didn't take any other supplements to stop the loss. Congratulations on your success so far. Guest guest
About the Zinc Sulfate..... Try ZMA from General Nutrition Center. I found that I also lost so much more weight when I took it than when I did not. Post op 18 months and I still take it. I think it is good for you. in Atlanta

Guest guest
I have been loosing hair since at least 1997, with and without treatment. Worse on treatment. I color my hair only because the hair fairy keeps changing the roots to gray. Mean hair fairy. But I did not color during treatment. I lost too much and the treatment was not to great on me nor my hair, so I figured the chemicals on top of it would only make it worse. But it still does not look thin, though it is naturaly wavy so that helps. They say it is reversible, the hair loss. But are you clear of the HepC? Guest guest
I am now on PEG comb and it is falling again. I just started in march. 2 years ago after the Rib comb. I was rid of the dragon. But, it seems that he is persisitent because he is back again. The same way I will beat him again. Yes I color my hair with home shampoo ones and it makes it thicker. Guest guest
Hmmm... what is this home shampoo coloring you are talking about? It doesn't hurt your hair or your scalp whilst on treatment? Tomorrow will be my 8th shot and I've just this week started losing my hair too, it sucks considering how long it is. I've not colored it since one month prior to starting treatment, and my roots look so savage *feels bad about it*, but the nurses at the Be In Charge program all say to stay away from hair coloring... Guest guest
Jane, you should be ok without additional hairloss due to the GB surgery. I'm still losing hair and am trying to decide on which wig to buy from the wonderful catalogue that Bonnie sent me! I have very fine, thin hair and it is really starting to look much thinner. Started the end of June (4th month) By the Christmas party, I'll have to wear a wig or just gel it and spike what little I have left! Won't that be cute. Maybe I can do it like the girl who sees the cactus and then does her hair to look like it! in SC ....maybe a little red and green color or glitter for the Christmas look? Guest guest
Hi Jane, I haven't had gall bladder surgery, but have had several cosmetic procedures and yes with each one, I lost a fair amount of hair beginning about 3 months after surgery. It fell out pretty heavy for about 2 months then tapered off, and so far has come back each time. I also use the generic Rogaine from Walgreen's, and NuHair as well. The NuHair is a great product and seemed to really boost my incoming hair last year.
