Guest guest
Last Friday, a week ago, I ordered coconut oil, 1 gallon each, from both Mountain Rose and Jedwards. Now, I am just north of the Los Angeles, California area, Mountain Rose is in Oregon, and Jedwards is back east in Massachusetts. The Mountain Rose product arrived first (Thursday), and I have opened it and begun to use it. The Jedwards product arrived today, and I have not opened it yet. I am going to make sure that I always have mayonnaise around. I quadrupled the recipe, and it works fine, but it takes a long time to get all the oil blended in. I will note that both Mountain Rose and Jedwards products come packed in a nifty little pail with a metal bail with a plastic tubing in the middle of the bail, so it will be more comfortable to pick up. I think their buckets are nicer than the ones Nutiva uses (neener, neener). I am a big fan of buying products which come in reusable containers. I have been giving away the buckets on Freecycle, but will be keeping some for myself. Since these are food-quality buckets, they should be useful for storing other foods. I will report on the taste of the Jedwards when I open it. Pam Maltzman
