Thanks for getting back with me on it. ~Karma karma@...http://loaves-n-fishes.com Castor Oil Hi,I finally got down to the other house and could check on the brand ofCastor Oil I'm using. It's Home Health, Cold Pressed and Cold Processed. I bought it at ahealth food store.I don't do a full table spoon, that would make me gag too much. I use aregular teaspoon to measure and it still works really good.http://themail.com/ref.htm?ref=1227417 *** This free e-mail service pays money for messages that are read! Guest guest
Terry, I am so sorry that you hurt yourself. I am glad to have been able to pass along information that you found helpful. Thanks for sharing this with us. I read today in a book that deep breathing actually alkalizes our body. You might remember that and the Good Fats are my research topics until I understand them. So far, it is becoming apparent that a person will not be skinny or thin if their body is acid. I test myself by putting pH hydrion paper on my tongue first thing in the morning. I test my saliva. I know you probably shouldn't put the chemicals on your tongue and sometimes I spit in my hand and put the paper in the spit. ~Karma<(©¿©)> http://loaves-n-fishes.com castor oil Hi everyone, I just wanted to share this with you. Last week I cut my husbands hair, and asalways I shaved his neck with a straight edged razor. When I was all done, I startedcleaning up and picked up the razor to close it, and like a ditz, I closed it one handedinstead of doing it the right way, and as I did, the blade came down on the top of myindex finger. It almost sliced the finger in two. I knew I had screwed up, but seeingas how I am allergic to just about every known pain killer, there was no way I was goingto the emergency room for them to sew it up. It was right next to the fingernail and the fingernail would have had to come off in order for them to stitch it. ouch!! So, I put some neosporin on it and wrapped it good. I cleaned it everyday, and reapplied the ointment, and six days later it was not any better. Was swollen and redand extremely sore. My husband wanted to take me to the emergency room, but I said no, let me try one more thing. So, I cleaned it again and this time I put castoroil on it, then I went to bed. I kid you not, when I woke up and checked it, the swellingwas down, the redness was gone, and it was not anywhere near as sore as itwas prior to that. Is that amazing or what? I am now a firm believer in castor oil.The healing properties in it are astounding! That was four days ago, and other thanthe very deepest part of the cut, it has started healing and growing back togethernicely. Another four, and it will probably be gone! Just wanted to let you know. Castor oil is now my friend, and I want to make sureI always have it in the house. :-) You all have a good day.Terry
Guest guest
Hi Terry, Ouch!!!!!! That must have been painful. I'm glad that you're getting better. It's probably a good idea for all of us to keep castor oil in our medicine cabinets. Thanks to Karma for letting us know the great healing effects of using it. Be careful with those razors! Guest guest
There are some great castor oil links at http://www.webspawner.com/users/castoroillinks/index.html castor oil Hi - I see you are almost a neighbor. Barbara and I are in Silver Spring. And Hi to a who I know from other groups as well. Castor Oil works for a lot of things. It stimulates the lymph as well. When my Epstein-Barr was driving me crazy with swollen glands, I would wrap a cloth coated with castor oil around my neck with a heating pad and I would be fine in the morning (the gland swelling, that is). Castor Oil with baking soda gets rid of warts too. I had one on my hand years ago. It turned dark red and then it was gone. When using this, it is important to wash it off every day so that the toxins are not reabsorbed into the body. I used it on my feet when they were burning from the effect of EBVirus. In Germany, they discovered that, in older women, this virus will eventually hide in the nerves coming from a part of the spine that is deformed in any way. I have old age compression of the lumbar so anything in the lower torso burned, including my feet. Barbara knows that I could not walk. For the burning, I finally discovered that an anti-inflammatory diet (avoid sugar and take note of any food allergies)and supplements (omega 3, turmeric...I took a lot of different ones) and HerbPharm Nettles Blend for the histamines. There is a Cayce book on Castor Oil (Palma Christi). I will see if I can find it or pick it up on the 7th at Virginia Beach. ...Lynn Koiner Re: Manuka Honey used for MRSA at GW Univ. Guest guest
Thanks for that link Dudley and hi Lynne back atcha. I have burning foot soles, although not EB. I just figured I had hot feet because I can walk bare foot in the snow without my feet becoming cold. Castor Oil is on my agenda to buy now. When I talked to the herbalist, she told me she couldn't recommend anything else, except for GABA, a green tea extract , [which did absolutely didley squat] because they all had those ingredients in them in one form or another. I tried CALMS, extra strength a homeopathic remedy which also does didly squat. Last year I received several neurofeedback treatments back to back in twenty four hours. The 5-HTP is used by people with fibromyalgia who have sleeping disorders. With both, you have to lay down and relax or they will not work. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, OK, will try the timed release melatonin with 5HTP. Haven't seen that one yet. Regular melatonin doesn't work either, never seen 5HTP either. The link that Dudley sent has lunesta but that is a sleeping pill; something I don't want to get into, YET, but desperate methods might have to apply soon. It really wasn't a big issue before I worked but running on my feet for nine hours a day means I need to sleep too. a Re: castor oil I have tried a lot and only 2 things work -- Melatonin TIMED RELEASE and 5HTP (3 pills). Guest guest
You need to check the label to be sure the one you have is suitable for internal use. Generally it's used to induce a bowel movement but they say it shouldn't be used long term. It's also antifungal, ant-yeast. Not sure if it's antibacterial but I suspect so. And it makes a fabulous facial moisturiser. I don't know about using it in the ear, not heard of that. The only time I ever had an ear infection I used herbal tinctures from the herbalist and it cleared up fast. You could check out the earthclinic website for lots of ideas on ear infections. http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/earache.html But remember these are home remedies, so play safe. You might find some alternatives for antibiotics on there too to take internally. I use oregano oil in the main. A herbalist once told me that would knock out anything! It tastes rotten though. Guest guest
I would probably start with sweet oil in the ear. Heat it by floating the bottle of oil in a cup of warm water--then test it against your wrist like you would a babys bottle so he doesnt get burned. Fill the ear canal with this and a cotton ball and have him lay on the opposite side for about 20 min if you can. A few drops of castor oil wouldnt hurt in each ear too--alternate it with the sweet oil but only a few drops. (more often the sweet oil though). I love castor oil I use it for almost everything. I live in a very small town (pop 648) and they give me weird looks when I buy every bottle I can find LOL. Works tho. I cant tell you how many things Ive healed. Dudley has some great links to Cayce websites where they get more specific on which remedy for which ailment. Hope this helps.Blessings,RamonaFrom: hayleyscocoabear <hayleyscocoabear@...>Subject: Castor Oil Date: Friday, December 4, 2009, 9:08 AM I recently started using castor oil packs on my autistc son again. He has an ear infection, and I don`t want to give him antibiotics. Guest guest
Hey Liana,That is definitely worth a try. I have castor oil here, which is a laxative. Made from castor bean which is highly toxic by itself. Castor oil is recommended for bowel problems by rubbing castor oil over the abdomen, put flannel over the oil and then use a heating pad on low. Supposed to be really helpful to the colon and internal organs in that part of the body. May be good for irritable bowel too. Castor Oil Hey, this stuff has really helped my face - I first started putting it on my eyelashes to help them grow. The first time I used it a lot of those little glass granules came out of my lashes. I rubbed my nose while my fingers had castor oil on them and the same thing. So I've started using castor oil on my face, rubbing it in and wiping it off, then putting more on and repeating the process until no more of the little specks or granules come up.Seems to work a lot more effectively than other oils - I think it's because castor is so thick. It also is the only oil that dries and leaves a film on the skin. I don't know about that last part, something I read - I don't leave it on my skin, I do this before a shower and then wash it off with soap and water. I've been doing this for 3 days now, and now not much of anything comes out of my skin, but it's made my skin look much finer, cleaner, like the pores have been unclogged. I had heard that castor was a cleansing oil, I guess that's true!Just a heads up - maybe mixed with tea tree and other essentials, it would be more effective. Guest guest
Article about castor oil: http://www.ehow.com/about_5297376_uses-castor-oil-skin.html This sounds helpful (from the above link): " For an infection of the skin, you should soak the area in Epsom salts and then wrap the site in a cotton cloth soaked in castor oil. Leave overnight. Ringworm, inflammation and sunburns all respond to this treatment as well (see " The Benefits of Castor Oil " ). also notes that a castor oil pack treats keratoses, which are " noncancerous, wart-like skin growths, " skin abrasions, finger- or toenails with fungal infections, acne and persistent itching. You can make a castor oil pack using the following method: Soak a piece of wool or cotton flannel cloth in castor oil and place it on the skin. Cover the cloth with a plastic bag, and then place a hot water bottle or heating pad over the site. Leave in place for an hour. Remove, and rinse the skin with baking soda and water. The treatment can be applied three times a week or daily, and you can reuse the same cloth up to 25 times. " I don't know that I would use a pack with this condition (I couldn't bring myself to reuse a pack and it would get expensive), but treating with epsom salts first before rubbing in the castor oil would probably really increase the effect. When I used olive oil over a dried epsom saltwater crust, it made my skin feel very smooth and clean and uninfested. I'll bet castor oil works even better! > > Hey, this stuff has really helped my face - I first started putting it on my eyelashes to help them grow. Guest guest
You can also smear it over your liver and put flannel and a heating pad and detox your liver in the same manner. To the castor oil you can also add herbs, like ginger for further detox. You can do your spleen on the other side too. I've been doing this for 3 days now, and now not much of anything comes out of my skin, but it's made my skin look much finer, cleaner, like the pores have been unclogged. I had heard that castor was a cleansing oil, I guess that's true!> > > > Just a heads up - maybe mixed with tea tree and other essentials, it would be more effective.>
Guest guest
LMAO!!! Do mites even crap? Do they urinate? I know they have sex, because they reproduce like crazy. LOL - imagine how small a mite's equipment would be. Talk about a complex! I didn't get much sleep last night, I'd better go before things get too graphic... > > > > Hey, this stuff has really helped my face - I first started putting it on my eyelashes to help them grow. The first time I used it a lot of those little glass granules came out of my lashes. I rubbed my nose while my fingers had castor oil on them and the same thing. So I've started using castor oil on my face, rubbing it in and wiping it off, then putting more on and repeating the process until no more of the little specks or granules come up. > > > > Seems to work a lot more effectively than other oils - I think it's because castor is so thick. Guest guest
Hi Bee and group, Happy New Year! Bee, I have a question about castor oil. Is it safe if it gets in the eyes? Thank you. All the best, kelly
