You can have as much broth as you wish per day - there is no minimum. Bee

Am I urinating away nutrients? > +++Hi Colleen, Beef liver is higher in nutrients than chicken liver, but both are good. Try to have more beef liver than chicken. Veal, called calves liver, is milder tasting. This is all about fish I recommend from my candida article: The safest sources of fish are fresh and wild-caught from the ocean, and not from inland lakes, rivers or streams. Fresh fish is not labeled thoroughly so it is wise to ask about the source of the fish, i.e. from farm, lake or ocean, in order to find out whether it is fresh, wild-caught ocean-going fish, or shell fish and fish roe (fish eggs) in season from clean waters. Good fish include Wild Alaskan or Pacific salmon, Summer Flounder, Croaker, Haddock, Arctic Char, fresh sardines, shrimp, herring, and anchovies. Fresh cold-water fish are also good, i.e. tuna, cod, haddock, herring, perch, and snapper are also good since they spend their lifetimes in the open seas distant from contaminated coastal waters. Canned skipjack or albacore tuna are safer than canned bluefin or yellowfin tuna. Small seafood, such as oysters, sardines, anchovies and shrimp are okay to eat since they are small enough to have minimal contamination. Buy all canned fish that is packed in olive oil or spring water. Avoid fish species that stay in coastal waters, or from inland lakes, rivers or streams, and those that consume near the top of the food chain, i.e. bluefish, carp, catfish, striped bass, trout, etc. You will urinate more in order to get rid of toxins, so that is normal. Are you on my all meat and fat program? Bee
Guest guest
Yes I'm on your all meat and fat program since January 1, 2011. I'm also really hungry all the time even when I was on your other program which I started back in 09. I'm a little concerned since I'm starting to gain weight. Is there anything I can do to help with my continuous hunger? Thanks Colleen > > > > On the all meat/fat program it says to have 1serving of liver per week and 2 serving of fish. In other words, what is your BMI (body mass index) - you can find calculators for it on the internet. Have you ever had issues with your weight previous to starting on my program in 2009? Guest guest
My BMI is Now 22 up from 19.2 when I started earlier in the month. I'm gaining in my tummy, butt and thighs. Why I'm concerned is that it seems to be creeping up and no I didn't have a weight issue prior your program in 09. I don't know if you're aware but one can keep track of their weight on fit day and BMI is also easily accessible. That's where I keep track of my weight. Guest guest
Dear Bee, please excuse me for jumping in here but i have a similar problem to Colleen's. My BMI has gone from 19 to 24 in under 5 months on your program. I keep having to buy new clothes to fit me, and am really depressed about this because I have never weighed so much in my life. The weight is in my breasts (which is very uncomfortable) and stomach. I was on birth control pills for a total of 5 years; I stopped them about 7 years ago. Is the weight gain from birth control pills? Based on what you've seen with other people, do you have any idea how long this will take to pass? Buying new clothes that I outgrow 2 weeks later is not fun! Guest guest
Yes I was on birth control for about 2 years back in 88 and used a topical hormone cream for about 2 months in the 90's. Guest guest
Hi , Colleen, and group, Since I think it is important to contribute when experiencing similar issues, I want to share that I too have been experiencing rapid weight gain. I began Bee's diet in July 2010, and the all meat and fat portion around September. My weight has increased from 95 lbs. to 120 lbs. My BMI rose from 14.4 to 18.8. It is obvious that I needed to gain weight based on the figures. What concerns me is that I too experience episodes of tremendous hunger. I attribute some of it because I am much more active now since I have been able to resume caring for my family of eight. (Thanks to the diet and supplements). Despite my more active lifestyle, my weight continues to increase. As a teenager, I was anorexic from middle through high school. As a young mother, I was more interested in losing weight after the birth of my six children than I was in eating properly. I later developed an aversion to meat and fat and became a vegetarian. (A recipe for disaster wasn't it?). I did take hormones for a brief time, maybe 4 months. They failed and I concieved my third child in 1989. I also recently withdrew from my thyroid medication after using it for a year in 2010. I left the care of my wholistic doctor in favor of this diet, and I didn't want to refer to her to renew my perscription. I have not taken thyroid meds. since Augsut 2010, five months. Most days I eat within my ratios for fat and protein, but there are days when I consume more at each meal due to increased appetite. On those days I surpass my alloted fat and protein levels which causes me to wonder if those days may be contributing to unecessary weight gain. Thanks for sharing, Nina > > > > > > My BMI is Now 22 up from 19.2 when I started earlier in the month. I'm > > gaining in my tummy, butt and thighs. Buying > new clothes that I outgrow 2 weeks later is not fun! > +++Hi , Birth control pills interfere with your body's ability to normalize since hormones have a more powerful effect than anything else, which creates hormone imbalances. Often I've found women who are taking them tend to gain weight. You need to stop taking birth control pills, and then it does take a long time afterward to normalize - see this on alternative birth control options: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/res1.php In the meantime lower your carbs to protein grams x .5 instead of protein x .8 to see if that helps, but the effect will take time too. Let me know if lowering carbs makes a difference for you in say 2 months time. All the best, Bee

In the meantime I think you should lower your carbs even more by taking your protein gram amount x .5 instead of x .8, and also lower your fat ratio to protein x 2 instead of protein x 3.5 For example: I'm 5'6 " so my protein gram ratio is 68. 68 x .5 = 34g carbs instead of 54g carbs Fat ratio change: 68 x 2 = 135 instead of 169g I don't know for sure it will help, but it won't hurt you either. Allow at least 2 months at the lower carb and fat ratios to see if it makes a difference and let me know. All the best, Bee

Guest guest
****Dear Bee, Thanks so much for getting back to me. I actually am not on birth control pills now. I stopped them 7 years ago. I am on your all meat and fat program, so I am consuming minimal carbs. I eat over twice the amount of protein recommended for my height, because I have extreme hunger. If I were to eat 68 g of protein a day (I'm 5'6 " ) I wouldn't be able to function. I've tried it, and I get very nauseous and hungry. And, if I lower my fat intake I get constipated. So I guess I have no choice but to continue to eat the amount of fat and protein I am now. It would really encourage me if I could hear of other members having lost the weight they put on with this diet. There are plenty of success stories about weight loss by people who were intially overweight, but I haven't heard of anyone saying they put on weight with the diet then lost it. I posted a few weeks ago seeking this encouragement but only got responses from people in the same boat as me (which is helpful but not very hopeful!). Can you tell me if there's a good chance I will lose the weight, or should I resign myself to being chunky indefinitely? Thanks so much Bee, On Tue, Jan 18, 2011 at 5:01 AM, Bee <beeisbuzzing2003@...> wrote: > > > +++Hi , > > You need to stop taking birth control pills, and then it does take a long > time afterward to normalize > > In the meantime lower your carbs to protein grams x .5 instead of > protein x .8 to see if that helps, but the effect will take time too. Guest guest
Good morning from California Bee, I am on the " All Meat and Fat " portion of the diet. My carbs are only those consumed from 1 cup of broth taken each day and those occuring naturally in meat, organs, and fish. According to your calculations below, at 5'7 " , I should continue to consume my protein gram ratio of 70g and lower my fat grams from 175 (low) and 245(high) to a fat gram ratio of 140 (low) and 210 (high)? Would this interfere with the 80/20 calculations? Thank you for the clarification, Nina > ++++Hi Nina, > > I will recommend the same thing to you I'm recommending to other women who are gaining weight, which is to lower both your carb and fat ratios as follows: > > Take your protein gram ratio, which for me is 68g protein for 5'6 " tall, and multiply it by these factors so your carb and fat ratios are lower: > > 68g x .5 = 34g carbs instead of 54g carbs > 68g x 2 = 135g fat instead of 169g fat (low range) > 68g x 3 = 203g fat instead of 237g (high range) > > Allow 2 months at the lower ratios and let me know if it makes a difference. > > All the best, Bee >
Guest guest
Hi Bee, I too have had trouble with weight gain for over a year now. So if I try this is it okay to lower my fat ratio and not get 5.5 tbsp of CO? And maybe only 1 tbsp of butter? Or should I still have a minimum of CO and butter? If so...what should be the minimum amount? Thanks, > I will recommend the same thing to you I'm recommending to other women who are >gaining weight, which is to lower both your carb and fat ratios as follows: > > Take your protein gram ratio, which for me is 68g protein for 5'6 " tall, and >multiply it by these factors so your carb and fat ratios are lower: > > 68g x .5 = 34g carbs instead of 54g carbs > 68g x 2 = 135g fat instead of 169g fat (low range) > 68g x 3 = 203g fat instead of 237g (high range) > > Allow 2 months at the lower ratios and let me know if it makes a difference. > > All the best, Bee >
