On the all meat/fat program it says to have 1serving of liver per week and 2

serving of fish. For the liver can it be chicken liver or does it have to beef

liver? For the fish is there a particular fish that is better to have or they

are all the same?

I am finding that I have to urinate more often since starting the meat/fat

program because I get very thirsty and drink a lot of water or bone broth. Am I

urinating away nutrients?

Thanks

Colleen

Hello Group,

I would also like to share that I've been gaining a lot of weight myself.  I

haven't had any weight issues prior to this program, and I have never taken any

hormone treatments.  Prior to this program, my BMI was 20.2 and now its 22.6

(started this pgm on March 2010).  Even though I'm not pregnant, I've been

wearing my maternity clothes to accommodate the weight gain.  Even though

more fat is noticeable all over my body...my tummy, butt, thighs, and breasts

are visibly much larger than before.

I have been keeping my carbs really low since the start of this program...below

the lower range.  My fats are are mostly hovering at the low range and at times

at the high range.  I wondered if the coconut oil is causing the weight gain

because it's not an animal fat.  This issue was brought up on a Weston A Price

group forum.  The moderator of the group indicated that her weight and her

sister's weight ballooned with coconut oil but lost weight with animal fats

(lard, butter, etc).  These results contradicted Enig's " Eat Fat, Lose Fat "

findings.

My weight gain isn't a major concern but it is in the back of my mind. My main

concern is getting healthy.  I'm hoping I'll shed the pounds by the time I'm

done with the program.

+++Hi Anne,

That's strange that those 2 women gained weight on coconut oil, yet they lost

weight on only animal fats. A few years ago one of our members was around 360

lbs., and she lost over 150 lbs. before leaving the group. She reported the

opposite, i.e. that she lost weight on coconut oil and gained on butter.

Can you give the link to that Weston Group since I already belong to most

of them?

However, as I understand it, the problem with Eat Fat, Lose Fat is they believe

that eating less calories is the key to losing weight, so that's why they

recommend taking fat to curb eating too much food. I haven't read the book, but

my friend has shared it with me. If I'm wrong then I stand to be corrected.

I just sent a questionnaire to you and the other women who gained weight on this

program. After I evaluate them I will get back to all of you.
