Eggshells also contain magnesium and other minerals, so it is okay to give to pets - so it is whole food supplements: " One whole medium sized eggshell makes about one teaspoon of powder, which yields about 750 – 800 mgs of elemental calcium plus other microelements, i.e. magnesium, boron, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, sulphur, silicon, zinc, etc. There are 27 elements in total. The composition of an eggshell is very similar to that of our bones and teeth. " Bee
Guest guest
Bee, I know you have a recipe for using eggshells for our calcium supplement, but could we just grind eggshells into powder and take that? Thanks, Debbie

Cats and dogs are carnivores so I'm not as familiar with their needs nor how their bodies work, but I know that eggshells are recommended for them.
